I wanted a lightweight shelf so I could pull out my storage boxes without moving a bunch of things around. This setup has been on about a hundred miles of dirt road so far, including some nasty washboard, and is holding up really well.

Thanks. Just worried about wasted space. My DIY shelf is sized perfect and fits tight to the back of my front seat, but is starting to fail. I may just beef up my current shelf. Enjoy the trip.
Just got back into town and checked and there is only 5 inch between the Hooke shelf and the back of the front seats.

Perfect, thanks! I ordered it, and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I plan to mount a couple drawers to the bottom of it.

It should be plenty strong for drawers. I have a dometic drawer fridge and 2 Front runner chair mounts mounted under mine.

Finished this up last weekend. I still need to find a way to hide the staples better. Likely going to add some glue and then some fibers to them....the sharpie just isn't cutting it. I also need some metal for the magnets in the cubby cover to attract to to keep it down....but overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

What parts did you use ? I'd like similar but have SOT so mounting it is my challenge. I assume this is a DIY with aluminum rails ?

Correct, it's DIY using 80/20 aluminum extrusions, off the shelf hardware, and some custom brackets I made.

That looks awesome. Also wondering if it can be used with the hardtop on.
Yes, it can be used with the hard top on. Got it out at EJS and beat the crap out of the setup with 10 days of hard wheeling and dirt road mobbing. It was great getting feeback from people out there on it as well. I did run it without the shelf across the center section as it worked best with my gear. So far it actually seems even more useful for setups with the hardtop on because you can really pack stuff on the side now.

Sweet. Looks like just about what I want. Also, nice crispy photos. What camera setup are you using?

I added the Hooke Road 2-door shelf, and bolted some desk drawers from Amazon underneath it. I covered the top with a rubber mat from tractor supply. So far, it has held up for a couple weeks and no major rattles. I just took my first trip with it, and worked great.

That’s pretty clever. Amazon link?

I just wanted a MOLLE bag big enough to store a pair of my shoes, but I couldn't find one. So I ended up going off the deep end and designing an entire setup of my own. Velcro panel that mounts to the interior wall of the tailgate, and Velcro-backed pouches in different sizes. Easy to configure for whatever I'm doing today, easy to re-configure for whatever I'm doing tomorrow. And yep, they hold a pair of my shoes!
