FYI

This works well in windy and snowy weather as well. With the doors on I get a nice little warm pocket to drive in and the Jeep is much more stable.

With the windows in, things get wiggly and less fun.

Trip to the Springs to meet up with forum member @DonH63 and some of the members of an off road club he belongs to.

The 39 Mile Mountain Road - Way low on snow this year so this drive was dry and not nearly as muddy as usual.

Will look for more mines up in my area to explore soon.

Back in April of 2014, I was riding near the 11 Mile Reservoir when the sky looked not so good. Stopped at the ranger station and within a few minutes everyone was being hustled into the appropriate restrooms due to a tornado on the ground about half a mile to the north.

54 bags of mulch because 3 for $10 was better than paying $100 for delivery and I can go back and get however much more I need in small amounts.

Finally got around to installing the radio handle mount.

It did need some minor wallowing out to fit as others commented in the reviews, but it's solid and out of the way.

Still thinking about a move to a four door. Some reasons I'm looking:

1. Increased room for passengers and gear
2. Increased towing capacity (3,500 lbs for the Willys or 5,000 lbs for the Rubicon which is the only one they put the floating rear axle on)
3. Auto - Because I'm done worrying about my clutch giving out or lighting the Jeep on fire, but also because the gearing on the 8 spd auto is far better for many things along with towing.
4. Factory 4.56 or 4.88 gears - XR comes with 4.56 but some few have the 4.88 option (My regearing by shops has always left me with issues). Found out that 5k tow rating goes away with this option.
5. UConnect 5 - Hopefully better handling of iPhone and CarPlay - Not finding many good reviews here, so I will not be chasing the Alpine this time.
6. Improved ride quality and stability (Rusty's 4 door with Fox 2.5's was much more comfortable, go figure). The lift kits are all setup for the four door. Two doors only get by with whatever they get from the four door markets.
7. Improved fuel economy (2.0L also drove better than the v6, IMHO after driving both)
8. Less flamboyant - I hadn't thought about it but I am not a fan of standing out. Wanderer is way too "Hey look at me!"
9. Setting up the Jeep for camping on road trips - Enough room to sleep in the back is a huge bonus on long trips.

$42k for a 2024 with 14k miles, leather heated seats?

MSRP was $61k.

I'm not sure it's an "outstanding" deal but not bad for this year.

I'm curious have you had any issues with the clutch or transmission ? I like mine, but again I dont tow or do any technical low speed wheeling.
