Just ask @cosine he knows!
Awesome appreciate the feedback on those lights. Definitely will keep them in mind when it comes time to upgrade my headlights. Especially if I can find a deal like you did.
Might get real lucky and find some OEM LEDs on a salvage or something, sometimes the stars can align just right!

Trip Journal Post - Moab Part 2

Went to Moab for Veterans day weekend. Weather was a little cold in the morning but once the sun came up it was an awesome few days. I will definitely be making a trip back to Moab every year in the November time frame because the town and trails were fairly empty and we rented a small cabin for fairly cheap.

Thursday
Got into town Thursday afternoon and we had an hour or 2 before dark so we decided to run Gemini bridges since it was close and we knew it was an easy trail. Made it to the bridges just before dark and did the small walk out to the bridges to take some pictures. Super cool view looking down into that canyon below. Tested out the flex on the new RK suspension. Rear bumpstop could probably use an inch more and front needs some removed. Halfway back on the trail it got dark and we were able to try out the KC HiLites Apollo Pros which was another reason for running this trail close to dark. To be completely honest the lights didn't do much. They added a little bit of extra light over the headlights and we could see plenty to get off the trail without any issues but just the headlights with high beams would have been fine. They look cool and only cost $150 so decent purchase and will be just fine for the next year or 2 until I can upgrade all lighting to LEDS.

Friday
Did Hell's Revenge today. Jeep cruised through everything and felt just as the reviews said, a slight upgrade over Fins N Things. We skipped all the named optional obstacles because it was just us and our experience level is very low so didn't want to risk any of those obstacles without an experienced person with us. Hopefully will get to run this trail again in the future with some other jeepers who can walk us through a couple of the named, harder stuff. Was a fun trail but I feel like we didn't get the full experience because we skipped all of the named obstacles so we'll definitely be back when we have more experience under our belt.

Saturday
This was the big one for us and my favorite trail so far - Poison Spider. This trail felt like a huge step up over Hells Revenge and definitely challenged mine and my wifes skills but not so much so that we felt unsafe, or needed to turn around. There were a few ledges and rock walls that we didn't think we were going to make it up but with a 2nd or sometimes 3rd try and learning what the right line looked like we made it. At one point where we chose the wrong line so backed up, engaged the lockers and tried again. With the lockers engaged we cruised up pretty easily. Not sure if it was the lockers that helped or we just chose a better line the 2nd time. Came up to the Wedgie/V-notch obstacle and decided to give it a go. You can see from the pictures in the next post our first line wasn't great but made for a cool picture. We backed up and nailed it on the 2nd try. Super fun obstacle and was probably the highlight of our trip doing that obstacle on our own. My jeep is on a 2.5 inch lift and 37s but I believe we could have completed it with just the XR package although we definitely would have scraped and bounced around a little more. Overall this trail was super fun and my wife and I both said we cant wait to do it again. This would be the trail we would take any family or friends on in our jeep if they ever wanted to visit Moab. Its a great trail that is the perfect amount of challenging while showcasing how insane/capable these vehicles are. Completing this trail gave us a ton of confidence and was a great learning experience.

Overall: The suspension and bigger tires were a great upgrade and I'm glad I did it. With those upgrades the jeep is now more capable than I will every use it for but gives me the confidence to try a few more obstacles that I would normally skip. Also Moab in November was amazing. Cold, but much quieter than our last trip in May. Definitely missing things in my trail write ups so feel free to ask any questions!
