Hey everyone! Trading in my JKU Sport with 4.56 gears, 315 KO2s, and 2.5” lift. We had a break from snow and a 65 degree day so I washed her, dropped the top, and made the mistake of rolling into the dealership to just peek at a JL in person. I liked it, sat in it, and liked it more. I drove one the next day and I was surprised how it moved and handled. I wasn’t 100% sold until I thought more about it. Although I felt My JKU rode almost as good.
I have a bad back and lower back is fused. I usually need help with doing things like lift off the front doors, rotating the big ol tires. The JL has light doors, a top I don’t have to wrestle (I have a 2007 soft top on my 16), and I’m probably going with a 275 KO2 this time around and maybe a leveling kit. The 2” lifts are not needed for me. The JL is a game changer and I’ll only replace the stock suspension at my leisure. The JL was just more comfortable and will keep me in a Jeep longer.
So if all goes right tomorrow I’m picking and JLU Sport S in black. I had them search and they located one with Limited slip/Rear D44, Cold Weather Package, HD towing/Aux switches. I went soft top and I’m hoping to negotiate a premium top. It gets cold here but I didn’t want to deal with a hard top and hoist anymore. Hope I did right.
I will probably do a leveling kit or leave the suspension, and add 275 KO2s. I wish my Rock Hard patriot sliders from my current Jeep would fit, but I definitively need those.
For now I have no need to change suspensions, tire carriers, etc. I like that the JLU has allowed me to focus on more important upgrades like bumpers, skids, and secured storage. I don’t go on the rocks and stick to medium/easy dirt trails, so I think out of the box I have what I need.

Sounds like you did a good job getting what you wanted. Enjoy and have fun!

Hi! I officially joined the Wrangler owner club last month, purchasing a JLU rubicon. So far, haven’t gotten to any mods. (Trying to keep it off the highway til the salt is gone). Plan is to do a 2” lift and 35’s, winch, etc., exciting to look at options!
I briefly owned a liberty, but hubby has owned his 1979 Silver Anniversary CJ5 since high school. It’s too beautiful and irreplaceable as is to off-road. Plan on this jeep being more Jeeper realistic.

Greetings all!

Justin from Texas here. Currently in Austin but soon to be back to my roots in the suburbs North of Dallas.

First time Jeep owner. I pulled the trigger pretty quick after I caught wind of the JL. Did some hyper research over the period of a work week and ended up trading in my BMW X5 on Saturday morning for a Granite Crystal JLUR. No regrets. Love it! Put on a stubby antenna, sill guards, all-weather mats, and grab handles on order. Probably going to wait a year or two for major performance or off-road upgrades.

Look forward to seeing y'all out there!

2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
Hi! New member from Cumming, Iowa.
I've got a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, and just last week ordered a 2018 JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in Ocean Blue.
I've been reading this forum for a few months now, and the information on here saved me a ton on my new order. Kim down in Conway, Arkansas, who came highly recommended on this forum, was extremely helpful!
I look forward to being an active member in this Jeep community!

Hey everyone! New member here from las Vegas. Picked up a white 2018 JLU Rubicon about 2 weeks ago, coming from a 2014 JKU Rubicon. Love the JL and i don't regret the swap....yet.

Already started building on the new one. so far i've added 2" Mopar lift, 37x13.50 Cooper STTs w/Fuel Anza D557s and Arctec A Pillar light mounts holding two sets of rigid spot & flood LEDs. Winch mount, Warn Zeon Platinum 10-s, Ace rock sliders and SpiderWeb Shade should be here this week...can't wait! Pictures soon to come.

Joined this forum just recently and its been great! Full of helpful information and members. Glad to have joined and i look forward to talking with you all.
