A document previously posted stated that the JK would be discounted this year.

Any idea yet as to when the rebates will be available?

Any word on how much the rebates will be?

My guess would be not until dealers are stuck with an ample supply of JLs on the lot and the JKs are taking up space. A lot of dealers still don’t know much about the JLs, so you can expect some uneducated consumers won’t know about them at all and will still be buying the JKs without a 2nd thought.

I would venture a guess that decent to significant discounts would start appearing this coming Fall 2018.

I am rooting for sooner than later. Hoping for a decent rebate on a Rubicon like they have done with other outgoing models. Probably unlikely but only time will tell I suppose.

Since the JL has gone up $750 as of March 1st ( $500 price increase + $250 added to Shipping), thats a big "discount" on the JKs on lots. In the rural areas, the Dealers see people come in to look at the JLUs, but buy JKs. The price increases matter to conservative traditional "base" buyers.
Once the frantic Rush to have the "latest" recedes, I think JL sales will reflect this.
I would like to see a comparison of Big City sales, to rural sales.

With the delay of the JL 2 door , and various JLU manufacturing and option delays , that delays their incentive program for the JK. With how poorly this new JL roll out has been jeep is actually pretty lucky to have the JK still around.

I don't think it is just luck. They planned it this way.

I'll believe it when I see it. The last update on the quoted post was September 1, 2017. A lot has happened since then, including record February sales for Wranglers and a significant price boost on the JL. FCA won't discount JKs just because they said they would, they'll do it only if JL production volume and sales numbers are where they need to be, and JKs are truly sitting idle on the lots.

Is there a source for the delay or just a guess?

They definitely left the JK around for a while knowing they planned on screwing their customers with the JL pricing. Used it as a transition piece. Just like how they waited a bit and added $500 to the invoice pricing and now have the highest destination charge I am aware of at $1500...

I think the February sales numbers are misleading. Since a new model came out dealerships were purchasing stock. This likely accounts for the increase.

I think the real reason FCA kept the JK around this year was as a hedge against potential shortfalls in JL production volume, not fears of JL sticker shock. Either way, though, it seems like a pretty shrewd move on their part.

Personally, I'm not planning to get into the JL game until next year at the earliest, but a significant JK incentive, if it came to pass, might make me move sooner. It's doubtful though, since you can't custom-order a JK anymore. The incentive would likely be soaked up by all the crap options the dealers pour into their dealer-stock orders. I sure wish you could still custom-order a JK, though, because for the configuration I want, the difference between a JK and a JL now stands at about $6,000 when you include the new JL price increases. That's too much, IMHO-- I'd go JK right now if I could custom-order it.

I'm feeling that way now myself. If I could, I'd probably just order a JK Willy's and be done with it.

Fuck this company. I'll try to say that as often as possible from here on out.
