Hi All

New to JLWranglerForums but this is my 2nd Wrangler - first was a 2016 JKU Willy's Wheeler.

I have had my JL for a month now and while I do enjoy driving it much more than the JK, I would like a slightly more aggressive look by upgrading the tires to 33". Do any of you have pictures of JLU Sahara's with stock wheels and a tire upgrade?

How to they ride/perform? Do I need spacers? Any rubbing?

I'm looking at either the 275/70R18, 285/65/R18 or the 305/65/R18.

Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been covered before. I tried a search and couldn't find exactly what I was asking.

100% recommend the wildpeak MT's. i upgraded my sports setup to a rubicon set of wildpeak MTs 33" tires with the rubi rims for 900 for all five! only had 200 miles on the tires!

Hey there and welcome, neighbor! Have you checked the "members market" subforum? Mavericks right, you could get take off wheels, tires, and tpms sensors with low miles for less $ than a set of new tires. The part I would counter, is suggesting mud terrains. They typically don't handle as well in the snow we get in the northeast.

Some people say No Rubbing. Others say they have Rubbed. With what I wanted my guy at 4 Wheel Parts here recommended Tearflex 1.5 Spacer kit. Its 2.0 inch in front to take away the Factory Rake that Jeeps have and 1.5 for the Rear. Removing the Factory Rake gives Jeep that Aggressive Stance you want. Gives more clearance for 33's and more clearance for off road. Overall Lift and Tires raised Jeep 3 inches. I was shocked at how it made the Jeep look.

I upgraded my stock JLUS tires to Michelin 34.2 (295/70r18) and I love them. Went to Town Fair Tire and got all five for 1100 + $100 rebate. So 1k for all 5. :)

I do have the Mopar lift and 2 5/8" spacers.

Your car looks so much better. When you say "spacers" you mean coil spacers?

Is that Sting Gray? My JK was Rhino, which I really liked but got black this time as I wasn't sure about the Sting.

My car came with the 255/70R18 ATs which definitely look better than the standard all seasons but still too small.

What do you think of the Sky One-Touch roof? I had the option of one of those but it was white, which isn't my favorite color. I'm a big fan of open top motoring year round so I only have the premium soft top. I used my JK in all weathers with the soft top on. The new roof is a revelation in comparison to the old one. Would have been tempted by the One-Touch if it was anything other than white.

Thanks for your advice. Did you fit the spacers yourself?

Thanks, Jeeps are not Cars. lol Sorry had to point that out first. :jk:
Yes my lift is the Teraflex 1.5 Spacer kit. Goes on top of the springs. Front is 2.0 inch ( Remove Factory Rake ) Rear goes 1.5 Inch.
Yes its Sting-Gray color. Got lots of people commenting on color.
The BFG KO2's 33's 275/70/R18 are 33.2 Height and 11 Wide. My stock Bridgestone Duelers 255/70/R18 31.8 Height 10 Wide.
I didn't want to go to big. The tires and lift raised my Jeep overall 3 inches. Gives more off road Clearance too. My son has 3.5 lift with 37's and killed his MPG. But he roams Florida beaches and young. lol
I was Ram owner for years and my Jeep was wild hair. Waiting for oil change at Dealership one day talking to my old High School friend who works there and I buy all my autos from. i kept looking on Showroom floor at this Jeep. Couldn't see the Hard top break line behind Drivers seat. I never would want a Hard Top cause to hard to take on and off. Soft tops too windy and plastic windows, just never thought of Jeep. So he walked over to Jeep and pushed Button inside and Premium Sky Power Top opened up. He took the two big rear windows off in 60 seconds. Long story short my wild hair took over and I gave him my 2017 Ram key fob and drove Jeep home. Texas weather is just too dang hot I found out real fast for Topless right now. I go topless early morning. I am waiting for Texas Winter cause I love the cold and will be topless a lot then. Early May it was raining off and on and I was driving home and storm popped up so I closed Sky Top while driving ( Works under 60 MPH ) through the little shower and opened back up after it past. I have seen Hard Tops get caught in Texas Pop up storms and they get drenched. Some like that but Leather seats don't like that. So your question yes I love the Sky power top. I can open anytime and close anytime.
takes like 15 seconds to open, close. I will remove doors once winter cools Texas off, I saw on Jeep forum one like mine with doors off and its wide open with more air flow they say.
I took Jeep to 4 Wheel Parts here in Plano and they installed my Tires and Lift and Realigned my Steering Wheel and Front end. Its recommend to do Steering wheel and front end. Nice Jeep !! You Will be surprised if you do the BFG 33's and Lift. Changes appearance so much. More Jeep without going too much. Gives Jeep more Aggressive Stance you want.

Here's a picture with the stock wheels and tires.
Your Stock Wheels are 18 Height X 7.5 Wide Tire 285/65/R18 need 18 X 8-10 inch wheels 305/65/R18 need 8.5 X 11 Wheels. I looked at tires before going with 275/70/R18 BFG KO2's cause I didn't want to waste brand new Wheels. If you are using your Stock wheels you can only use tires that fit 7.5 wide Wheel. Just FYI
