Yeah, I felt a little strange removing them since it is a badge of honor but I instantly loved it as soon as I removed it. I know it's a Rubicon and the average Wrangler person know it too. Not to mention the red accents all over the place, it being stitched on the seats, and the start up screen.
I like it! And will also remove the “Jeep” only possibly leave the trail rated badge and probably Black that out....no red....thanks for sharing

Stubby bumper!

I also learned I’m not a huge fan of the new front air dam and frame horns/extensions. Anyone with a JK that ever used reverse in a big enough muddy puddle automatically removed the plastic air damn, and everything was fine and looked great. The JLUR has a steel air damn and the welded frame horns/extensions connected to it look like they will be YJ style lead spring fangs if you remove it. No bueno. Gonna poke around and see if anyone has taken it off.

Which ones did you get?
I wanted the squared ones to match the look of the JL but the circular ones had better overall reviews, ie: less spinning when driving fast or in windy conditions so I went with those. Only $40 so I figured if they get me through this summer I’ll be happy.

Yeah, they just have to be there to be legal. Thy don't actually have to work. I might wait a little and see if somebody comes up with a better design but if all else fails these are in my future as well.

Steel air dam? I'm amazed that FCA didn't cheap out on this. :surprised:

Dan, did you order the Mopar splash guards? I read somewhere they might not fit with Rubicon rock rails but this could have been for the JK version. I am interested in doing the same but still waiting for my 2 door, can you let us know how these work out for you? Thanks.
I've tried both Mopar 82215333 (Rear) and 82215332AB (front) splash guards on my JL Rubicon, and both DO NOT fit. The holes don't lined up correctly and they don't match inner fender's shape, especially on the rear. I've yet to see any other part numbers beside those listed above from Mopar. Maybe they are still working on the those to fit Rubicon's steel bumpers.

Today spent 4 hrs cleaning and putting Pinnacle Black Label on the rims, glass and body. Finished by putting the Ski rack back on. Ace sliders delivered so installing those when I get back home.
