Hi guys,

I'll spare the sob story as much as I can but I feel the need to share my story & ask for advice/help.

I ordered a 2-door JK Sahara back in August 2017. Long story short, the dealer never submitted the order and told me about 2.5 months later.

They negotiated for me to get a 2-door Sahara JL which we all know doesn't exist. This caused another 4 week delay.

I am now on my 3rd order that was placed 11/27/2017 for a JLU Sahara (manual). It is still in MF'ing C-status & doesn't look like it will get to me before end of April.

Why the f*** did I ever order this Jeep? Because I love the brand, love the car and really wanted it for winter LOL.

Question for everyone: What would you do today if you were in my shoes?

Disclaimer: I have a loaded JLU Sahara for $33k (long story, but it's a pretty decent deal I don't want to lose out on)

If the JLU is optioned right, why not.... you are going to be getting a better ride than a 2 door. 33k for a JLU, not quite sure I want to hear the story behind that.....

I would cancel your order with that dealer and go to another dealer and place your order. Otherwise you can get JLU's in dealer stock.

I also don't understand your last statement about the loaded JLU. Maybe you meant JKU. Otherwise you got a loaded JLU Sahara cheaper than I got my fairly decently spec'd JLU sport with employee discount. I would still try to get a JL if you can.

It is a JLU 4 door Sahara.

I have a very good deal (long story) and that is why going to another dealer is not an option.

My oriignal order was 2 door JK
My second order was 2 door JL (dumb fu** dealer wouldn't listen when I said that car din't exist)
My 3rd order is now 4 door JLU Sahara priced at the original 2-door JK from August/2017

Okay here is what I would do.

Buy the JLU Sahara for 33k. Immediately sell it for 43k and use the difference for a Rubi.

If it's loaded as you say 33k is the best deal of anyone probably in the world on a JLU.

I think most of us who have orders in feel some of your pain. To me, it seems like the Wrangler you want (especially a manual) just wasn't going to be part of early production for whatever reason and you were going to be forced to wait, regardless. I would wait for the one you ordered, you most likely won't see a manual on a dealer lot soon and good luck finding one that matches your options, also I highly doubt a dealer will drop the price to match. Placing a new order will probably stick you with a similar, if not later, delivery date. A $33k Sahara is a steal with just stock options let alone being loaded!

Yeah, I think that you are supposed to buy someone dinner before taking advantage of someone.... :giggle:

Forgive me if it's common knowledge but are you implying all manuals are in the same delay as me? I've read both yes & no to this question on other threads

I already bought it. I am waiting for it to get delivered but thanks for the advice.

Dang, that's some story and a hellofa deal. Only you know your situation, but for me - I'd give it another 2 months for a potential for that kind of savings, as long as there are no other pressures (like lease on prev vehicle being up or such). Calc the price difference, divide by 8 weeks and see how much you are effectively getting paid to wait, assuming it goes through (not sure if this tactic helps - it would help me).

That said... how are you tracking the order? Here, jeepgarage or elsewhere? It's a long time, and I've seen Saharas move (I missed this site's tracking so I used the other one), so i'm a bit suspicious.

Thanks.. I have been driving an unregistered car for 2 months so there's some pressure lol

I ordered so long ago that I am on this website's tracking system. I also contacted Jeep.com and they told me about my status. Same one as what the dealer told me via email but he is suspect.

something is fishy...I assume on your POC its says sold and 4ea and sold vehicle under options right? its a customer order not a dealer ? down payment with receipt?

put 1000 down and have receipt from original order, plus proof of transfer onto the 2nd and again onto the 3rd order.

From the POC:
4EA - sold vehicle

Order Type: Retail
Scheduling Priority: 1-Sold Order

Personally, I would have told them to go pound sand after the 1st screw-up and went to a different dealer.

I have an extremely low tolerance for that kind of nonsense.

It sounds like your dealer isn't the sharpest tool in the shed... to put it politely.

You'll probably receive the vehicle and only then will he realize that he sold you a JL instead of a JK and that the pricing is different.
