I've had these ordered for some time and got them installed this past Saturday. Absolutely love them. There are a three of optional bolts that can be used which require drilling. The one on the front passenger side is actually a must in my opinion. Without it, there is only one bolt holding the front part of that rail on and the rail will give a little if the optional bolt is not installed. Drilling for that specific optional bolt requires removing the rail and thus re-installation. I found that I needed to mount it first to get an exact location for the drill and then the attached brace is at an angle which would not allow a drill to line up straight. Not a big deal, but a little time consuming.

the other two drills can be done with the rails on and I did them as well. They're easy and the self taping bolts are used there. I also purchased some lock washers for all the bolts/nuts. Might have been unnecessary, but they won't hurt.

Thanks to Chris and the team at LOD for getting this out. It is a quality item, aids in a step for the significant other and helps in the mud/rock deflection.

These look great! I've been hanging out here deciding whether to order them. Now I see an installation on a red 2-door I'm in. I like having a step without everything sticking out. Seeing them installed, the step appears to be undercut a bit.

By the way, what deflector is attached to the lip of your hood and what is that antennae in place of the OEM part? That's a great looking rig!

Thanks. The deflector is by AVS, and the antenna is Rugged Ridge.

I’m sure there are other good step rails, but the destroyers are also rock rails and look really nice with clean lines. The other half is 5’5” and she really likes them for getting in. I’ve got 35’s and it did raise it just a little. I’m 6’4” and I won’t use them often for getting in, but there will be times they’ll be appreciated.

These photos (and the 10% off deal) convinced me to order these. They look great, seem to be quite sturdy, and they cover the pinch seam. Yes, a bit pricey but the others I’ve seen don’t look anywhere near this nice.

Installed today. These are built like a bank vault - really impressed. Install wasn’t too crazy - it helped to have my son nearby. A few notes:

I drilled the three optional holes with a cheap Harbor Freight step drill - they aren’t complicated to drill. I did have to use a grinder to shave a notch in the skid plate on the passenger side per the directions.

Follow the directions to ensure the steps fit into the gaps in the skid plate on each side - Happily, the rear portions on each side slid over the large body washer without the need to loosen it - I tried to loosen one and was afraid I would snap the bolt as it would not budge.

This install seemed far easier and less fraught with peril than other sliders that require removing the body bolts which may snap.

Anyway, they look great and are stout. Really happy I ponied up the dollars.

How far do these drop down from the door sill? It looks like 4 inches or so. Can anyone confirm? I want to put these on a rubicon JL with 2 inch Dynatrac lift and 37'S. Thanks
