They're pretty decent out of the factory, but compare them to a Rubicon's KO2s and they're very tame. We went out to eat the next day and I come out to find a JKU Sahara parked next to me with Goodyear Duratracs on the factory wheels... it was a pretty sweet setup, and good to see it on another Sahara. Thats my plan once the current tires wear out.
You’re going for the Duratracs? Your buddy has the tires I’m looking into..Cooper Discoverer STT Pros.

:surprised:And you lived? (Survived the rollover AND the subsequent punishment after)
Lived, I became a GOD. Earlier that week, I turned around a 41 foot twin engine patrol boat in a 43 foot slip. Without ever touching anything. The crew had just installed new feather touch throttle controls and clicking one engine forward and one in reverse was like butter. Though I will admit, I was very lucky because I was only able to do it once after that.

Yup, rolled it for a 6-pack of Busch Beer. :swear:

No punishment. Master Chief of the small boat station was one of the ones that was like, "Pfft, can't be done, no mater how hard you try"

The radio was ruined, which really pissed off the electronics folks, and I did have to give training on how not to roll, but ... all in all ... good times.

Goodyear Duratrac is the main one I'm looking into. BFG KO2, and Falken Wildpeak AT3 are a bit more expensive, but worth a look.

I have yet to find a Mud Tire for my wheels...

nope! lol.

getting new wheels plus new tires would be just as expensive as the Motorcycle I'm looking at. Gotta budget between the two, lol.

I thought those tires were 40's. They look huge. I loved the creaking sound on that one descent into the water. Maybe his brakes were wet. Looked like a beautiful day too!
Sounds like Hill Descent in action.

I noticed this trying out hill descent control. feels like a panic stop and sliding for a few inches, but helps keep you from flying down the hill. lol

Sounds like a good time! Reminds me of that video I watched a long time ago. It was a Ford truck (I forgot which kind because it’s a Ford) vs a Stock Sahara. They were testing the capabilities of both vehicles. The Sahara impressed them and won the comparison, but they wanted the stock Saharas to come with better tires.
Years ago I saw a battle between a Subaru Outback and some lifted trucks on TV. The Outback won on every obstacle.

Sean ran into a trail that had been mis-run by bigger tires spinning and digging ruts, so his tires and axel height had no chance. I still maintain a stock jeep in the right hands is very capable in real world scenarios. For instance, could have popped out of the rut and taking another line to make a new trail ... if the area allowed.

I slept in! I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 9:30:surprised: I think all of the travel/driving caught up with me. I have to do it again this weekend...off to Orlando for volleyball :CWL: Oldest’s team won their first game of President’s Cup. They were down to 10 at one point, while the other team had five subs. Super proud of their grit and determination!
