300 for only being 20" off the range top should still work better Yours I think ??

range hoods should be a minimum of 32" off the cooking surface and the smaller hood motors at at 600 cfm

a good Bath fan is between 80 and 144 cfm and that's drawing in steam in an avg 5 x 9 or 8 x 9 bathroom

I just measured. It's about 16" from cook top to bottom of micro. Just doesn't draw from the front burners enough tho. Oh well. When I win the powerball, I'll redo the whole kitchen. Wait! I'll just friggin MOVE! :)

Good morning.

Just to chyme in on the "Instant Pot vs. Crockpot" topic. I have both and I don't think the Instant Pot is a complete replacement for a slow cooker. For instance, I'd still do any kind of soup/stew/sauce in the slow cooker especially if it has any kind of noodles or soft vegetables in it. The Instant Pot is great for cooking things quickly but it will turn vegetables and noodles to mush very quickly. Recipes often call for you to cook the meat for a certain amount of time, then depressurize and add vegetables and then bring it back up to pressure/temperature. It's kind of a hassle. I also think the slow cooker is still better for meats that take a long time to break down such as pork. I still make carnitas in the slow cooker.

thats low but it is what it is

I'm wondering if something is obstructing the air flow ??
Front burners are usually never under any fan otherwise you would hit your pumpkin on when cooking ...thats why the 300 cfm should be more than enough to draw it in

Thanks ! and I get where RA is when she wants to cook something quick and not all day . That would come in handy in my world .

the Multi - function ones like the Instant -pot but in the Oval shape is drawing my attention now

Let me look into it some more ...

what about a large chuck steak or a whole chicken ....do you stand them on end ?

do they make an Oval one ?

maybe I'm just use to that shape and need to educate myself more
I’ve done a large roast in it, but never a whole chicken. It even has a sauté fuction, so you can sear the outside before cooking, all in the same pot.

No oval shape - the lid wouldn’t be able to lock down properly.

The Instant Pot makes perfect Pot Roast in less than an hour. I just used mine a couple nights ago. It does it have its uses, i just wouldn't cook the carrots with the meat. The carrots would be very mushy. I just steam them shortly before the meat is ready.

The other thing the Instant Pot does very well is beans. Where a slow cooker would require soaking overnight and then slow cooking all day, the Instant Pot will give you nice soft beans (from dry) in about half an hour.
