Me thinks, the adapter converts 115 v 60 htz AC to DC is what they are trying to say. Like 99 % of adapters. What does the power input look like?My only thought would be that it didn't mind if it got AC at 60Hz OR DC. Unfortunately, testing that and being wrong would be disastrous.

If standard type "monitor" plug, then adapter may be inside, easy to check by taking apart.

Must have come out in early 70's ... when 3 prongs were being installed and devices started coming with them, but most people still had two prong outlets, or it broke off.
