Quick update on my order - I called the dealer in Oklahoma and spoke with a sales guy there. I inquired about a granite crystal JL sport that was recently delivered and he said, "Oh yeah, the grey sport we just got? Yeah that was for an FCA rep. It's gone but we'll be getting more in soon". Someone at FCA hijacked my vehicle.

So, there you have it - my Jeep, that I've been waiting for since October is gone. Guess I'll have to get at the back of the line now.

Keep an eye on your order - hopefully no one else has this issue! I'm pretty upset and would like to know how this happened. Doubt I'll find anything useful or have anything resolved soon.

I'd be on the line quickly with FCA customer support filing a complaint, if it was listed as a sold order. That sounds like some shenanigans right there! Man, I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you. Maybe there's a mistake and the one delivered was a demo and yours is still in the pipeline? Keep us posted if you find out more.

@Jabs I think we pretty much have the same Jeep ordered and I am still in D after 70 days. When do we just scrap this order and do a new one? Hopefully, all of this isn’t a sign that a new JLUR really shouldn’t be in my future!

I think it’s the color match hard top that’s holding us back. I looked every where online and most orders I’ve seen delivered have the black hardtop. I’ve seen 2 vehicles with the body color and both were red... @SisterRubi is in the same boat too.

Ask for the VIN! If it’s yours then definitely a big complaint.

If it was in fact your vehicle that was taken I believe they will be regretting that decision with as many people who follow this forum. Your vehicle is probably the most famous JL produced so far being the first. When they find out what the took it will be a malox moment for them.

Oh the things I'm learning about car leases through this process! You actually get a 7 day grace period at the end of a lease, which I didn't know. Once it was clear that wasn't going to be enough time, I had to extend the lease for 30 days. Now I'm just hoping my JL arrives by Jan 31...which is looking less and less likely with every passing tracking spreadsheet update. If it's in transit at the end of the month, I'll prob just turn in my lease and either uber around for a few days or try and get my dealer to give me a loaner.

TFL Truck reported that Ford is taking orders for the diesel F150 starting the middle of this month. As I languish in D for 53 days, watching more recent similar orders move down the line, hearing @newJLUguy Getting hijacked, being told by FCA that they "have the parts" and other canned responses. I am considering the virtues of a pickup.

This is the first vehicle I've custom ordered and the experience is turning me away from the brand. The membership of this forum is large enough to be considered an adequate sample size from which to measure and judge the larger group of Jeep buyers. I think there must be a lot of disappointment in the Jeep community. And not because we have to wait, but because it all seems so unfair. So faithful are we that we laid down deposits on a vehicle that we had not seen. We only guessed at the cost.
And how are we repaid? Shinanigans, double speak, misinformation.
My poor dealer (who I neither blame, nor hassled) quit emailing me. He is either embarrassed or just doesn't know what to say.

Hi - apologies if this has been asked before. Does anyone have their VIN yet for a 2 door JL? I am curious if these only get allocated once actual production starts or shortly after ordering (even if production isn’t underway). I have a VON from an order that was placed last Friday but no VIN yet (as far as I know). Thanks.

My lease ended Dec. 7th. They told me I could extend the lease up to 3 months but it should be here by mid February assuming nothing goes wrong. They also told me that if it didn’t and I was at the end of the 3 months but had a better eta on its arrival they would consider extending it longer.

The major issue with this is it’s just throwing away money because the lease payments I’m making now don’t go towards the value of the car. So if I decided to just keep my GC and not get the JL it would be like that money didn’t even exist. You’re basically just renting the car once you go past the lease time.

Not for nothing but I think you guys gotta give Jeep a break. This is a brand new vehicle very different than past wranglers and I’m sure there’s a whole new factory/setup/building that is required to make it all work. They are probably pumping out the vehicles they deem to be the easiest and fastest to produce right now.

It does suck that for a lot of you who ordered real early that other people might be ahead but I think that’s your dealers fault. I could’ve ordered in October as well but my dealer warned me against doing so and had me wait until December. It wasn’t until 12/26 that he said he could take my order with any sort of certainty as to what I’d be ordering and assuring that the order would go in and go in properly. I mentioned that other people had already been ordering and he didn’t even understand how that was possible. He was thinking maybe they were taking the orders but they couldn’t be actually put in as a request until that day. He said what if they order and then that salesman isn’t in for a week and the order doesn’t go in when the actual orders can go in or they forget or whatever.

So, not that I truly have any idea as to what’s going on and I feel bad for those who are having issues but who knows what’s going on. I think there’s a lot of variables here. Not to mention the general work ethic of today is not what it used to be.
