Isn't the only trim not offered in 2 door the Sahara (ok MOAB also, which seems like a Sahara variant). Not really sure what the issue is. You can get 2 door Rubicons or Sports/Sport S. I don't think any options are ignored other than a dual top, or the Sky Top. With some trims you have to add air conditioning, but some of the people buying stripped down 2 doors want stripped down, bare bones Jeeps. The 2-door is what started it all. It was the genesis of the Wrangler. Anyone else feel the 2-door is treated like a step child? I really wish there were more options, models for the 2-door. I get the markets dictate but come on?
You can't get LEDs, Proximity Entry, Auto Headlamps, 8.4", Sirius services like Guardian unless you order the Rubicon. No Sahara so no Selec-Trac either for the 2-door.Isn't the only trim not offered in 2 door the Sahara (ok MOAB also, which seems like a Sahara variant). Not really sure what the issue is. I thought I read 80% of Wranglers sold are 4 doors. I thought the percentage would be even higher.
Looking forward to getting my 2 door in another month or so.
Those options don't look like they are available for a 4 door Sport or Sport S either. So they aren't really "shorting" the 2 door. You can't get LEDs, Proximity Entry, Auto Headlamps, 8.4", Sirius services like Guardian unless you order the Rubicon. No Sahara so no Selec-Trac either for the 2-door.
Yeah, I sure do miss my old bag phone. :cwl:Like asking "why do cell phone companies have limited options for flip phones."
Times are a changing bud
Only difference between 2 and 4 doors is the dual top option. Part of me wishes it was available, part of me is glad it wasn't because I don't want the seasonal project of swapping/storing tops. Trail Management system (although available) also looked comical in a 2 door, I think it looked like a 6 inch rail management system. When I ordered my 2 door Rubicon I didn’t see any options deleted from the list of choices. Now, as others have pointed out, there are trim levels for specific models that prevent ordering things found on higher priced models, i.e. 8.4” radio, lockers, etc...segmenting vehicle trim levels is just how manufacturers get more customers and make more money doing it.
What is undeniable is the 80/20 sales ratio, 4 door vs. 2 door, so I’m just happy that the 2 door is still available at all.
The dual top option is comical. You get box with a soft top in it. Nothing like my TJ that had it installed with my hardtop.Only difference between 2 and 4 doors is the dual top option.
