At the risk of perpetuating this argument, I’d like to add some perspective.

CDJRSalespro is in Pennsylvania (I think) where, according to an undated table I found on Edmunds.com, the processing fee is capped by state law at $135. In Virginia, there is no such limit.

Koons is in Tyson’s Corner, which is about 12 miles from the US Capitol, in one of the most upscale parts of the Washington DC Area. The cost of living is quite high here. It makes total sense to me that car dealerships would charge higher fees to cover their higher operating expenses.

Koons is not out-of-line here. A $699 processing fee is normal for the DC Area.

In fact, I paid exactly that, a $699 processing fee, at a dealership in Manassas, VA (about 25 miles from the Capitol) this past August for my wife’s Chief Edition JKU. I didn’t blink when I saw that fee in Craig’s ad for the group buy.

Coming back to the topic of this thread, I hear that “some” Jeep dealerships around here are expecting offers $5,000 OVER invoice for the first JL’s to hit the ground in the DC Area.
That may be, but it was marketed well outside that area.

Back to the thread...I'd love to have someone spot the first soft top/dual top and/or the first manual transmission to at least be in transit. My guess is that mine will be days away when we see the first manual deliveries. If I had a Jeep hat or some swag, I'd offer up a prize for the first one to post a photo of a Rubi with a manual transmission on a dealer lot. Unfortunately, my Rubicon is sending me to the poor house, so the only thing to gain is my admiration and bragging rights! Lol!

Ron, is that a dealership warranty or FCA factory extended warranty? I really would like to have that, even if I have to pay for it. It has paid off on my JK. Even if I had paid for it, it would have recouped its value.

Agreed..
I am curious to see how much they are charging for the extended lifetime warranty ahead of time so I can possibly negotiate that price. Curious to see if anyone knows what this years pricing is.

Those "lifetime warranties" from the dealership are a marketing and retention tool and not worth the paper they are printed on. It only covers basic powertrain. You also have to have every service done at that particular dealership. first thing you dont do, warranty is now void.

Yep, that's why I asked if it was an FCA warranty. My factory lifetime warranty on my JK doesn't work that way. I have done all the maintenance myself, but have to do a dealer inspection every 5 years. I've done two and they've taken care of warranty issues painlessly. That warranty is one of the big reasons I won't get rid of that JK.

I'm just wondering if an FCA factory backed lifetime warranty would still work that way or in some similar way.

Well that’s good to know. Didn’t think about the mandatory maintenances. Thanks.

One thing, though. They can't deny you a warranty claim on, say, your axles, just because you changed engine oil yourself. They'd have to show that something you did or didn't do was related to the failure. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act gives you some protection on that. Some states go even further.

I am not trying to trash anybody just pointing out the obvious......How can anybody think they are getting 5% below invoice when their ad clearly stated that they are going to charge you a "processing fee" of $699.......:headbang:
Nor is said dealer continuing to discuss this in a thread dedicated to discussion of JL deliveries. Please be courteous CDJRSalespro and start YOUR OWN THREAD.

Man, do you really think people are that stupid. Of course you're not getting a true 5% under invoice when you pay any kind of a processing fee. But when everything is factored in my Koon's deal comes in at a true 4.08% below invoice. Wanna match that deal on a new JL at your dealership, I didn't think so! LMAO
Ok...lol I am not here to bash or argue about Koons deal......I simply responded to the FACT that if they are advertising 5% below invoice and charging you additional fees it is NOT 5%.....just that simple....... Is 3% good yes hell 2% is good ...... But it is NOT 5%...... As I stated in first statement 5% is a 1000 loss.......3% is barely 100dollar loss and many dealers can handel a couple hundred dollar loss if it means they pick it up in volume........ No my dealership will not be taking loos deals on the KL...... Everybody deserves a good deal.....I get that but a dealer should not have to loose 1000 per car to earn your business....and they DON'T.......thats my point.

lastly...if you qualify for Affiliates Rewards then any dealership can give you that discount. That is another $600+ that the dealership would get from Chrysler so while its nice that Craig and Koons is giving you 250....They are keeping 350...... 350+699 =1050....... witch is now NOT A LOOSER

Again not bashing the deal or the dealer...... but I believe someone asked how can they do 5%under
I took the time to explain why other dealers say NO to 5%under.

with the additional monies back from affiliates rewards your deal is now around 3%...........and thats still a good deal!!! a great deal but it is not 5%......Thats all........

Can we get this thread back to dealer arrivals. Clearly the bottom line after and processing fee is how you should judge the deal. I think we're beating a dead horse on the true % invoice.

Man, the area within 150 miles of Knoxville, TN is getting a load of them...22! I checked that area because I recently went on a Jeep run to the Smokies and saw many, many Jeeps down there.
