Mine is a manual with dual tops. My dealer spoke to a Chrysler rep who said mine was to hit the assembly line last week. It now shows a shippig date of January 5. I don't buy that shipping date, but I think it is reasonable to expect my Jeep by the end of January. I'll call FCA Tuesday and will see if they can give me any new info. If the manual was going to be way out, they would have called it late availability, unless they've uncovered an issue. I doubt that, though.Does anyone have updated intel on the soft top and manual transmission start dates? As of early last week I was told by a credible source that the manuals were “way out”. A week before that another credible source confirmed that all of the JL’s sitting in the parking lot at TNAP are hardtops. Of course I ordered both of these options.

I ordered dual tops and a manual transmission. I know for a fact they had only ran ~5 manual transmissions (trial builds) as of 12/15/17. Since this is a new transmission, i’m sure they are thoroughly testing them right now before they put them into production. Based on what I know, I suspect they will start building the manual transmissions early/mid January. I have no intel on the soft tops other than there wasn’t a single one at TNAP as of 12/15/17.Both of which options, the auto/hard top, or soft top/manual?
On this computer, at the bottom of the Excell spreadsheet there are 3 tabs, the one you’re looking at, then the middle one is the one you’re looking for, then the third tab shows orders already built and delivery details. Hope this helps.I have gotten the password for the order tracking but dont see my order. It says at the top to see sheet two if you dont see your Jeep. I dont see where sheet two is. Where can I find sheet two? My dealer also told me that the factory has picked up my order and he thinks they will start building it within a week. Thanks Mark
They've been testing them for at least the last year. Plenty of test mules were sighted with them. If they are still testing, then they are having problems. Aisin has a very good rep, so I'd be surprised if they have some big problem. On the other hand, I know they build in batches, so I expected they wouldn't be in the earliest production. If they were not already in production at Aisin, they would not have been made available for order yet, and would have been set for a later date, just like the 2.0 engine. The first production manual transmissions would have been manufactured at least a month ago, and probably before that.I ordered dual tops and a manual transmission.
