Saw one of those “tolerance challenge” posts recently and thought we Jeep owners should have our own take on it. Let’s see how far you make it before losing your mind. Just for fun, guys.

Level 1:
Your brand new Jeep gets its first scratch.

Level 2:
Other vehicle owners laugh at your Jeep.

Level 3:
Filling up the gas tank while your wallet cries in silence.

Level 4:
Getting roasted by other Jeep owners for not building it “the right way.”

Level 5:
Your Jeep starts making a weird noise… and you can’t figure out where it’s coming from.

Level 6:
You check your Jeep’s resale value.

Level 7:
You realize the dealership totally played you.

Level 8:
Something breaks in the middle of nowhere on the trail.

So… which level would completely break you?

And if none of these bother you, then congratulations — your Jeep is definitely your true love.😎 But honestly, what’s a few problems here and there? We all know we’re still gonna keep spoiling them anyway lol.

" Filling up the gas tank while your wallet cries in silence. "

A few weeks ago I would have responded with "smiles per gallon", but owning a 392 which requires 91 octane is beginning to be a little painful in that respect. I don't even want to think about July, when our nation's gasoline reserves will supposedly be depleted and the price is projected to rise past 7 dollars a gallon.

There is no place to legally offroad around here without the permission of a land owner. The nearest off road park is 2 hours away. I have to fill up the 392 before leaving, top off when I get there, and fill up before returning home, every time. So every trip to Rausch or AOAA is at least 240 dollars just the for gas right now.

The rational side of me is actually considering a 3.6, because I doubt the prices will ever return to what they were just a few weeks ago. Doesn't help that these insane fuel prices are raising the price of every consumer good while slowly killing our economy and the global economy.

I am the optimist, currently driving Jeep #14 owned. I have experienced it all. No worries , Do I love it maybe. It is a fun vehicle to own and takes the place of motorcycle which I gave up at my kids request. At age 68 this vehicle is my third in my garage yet gets more driving time than others. No real wheeling as I have been lucky to been there done that.Mainly just puttering around the backroads of Missouri. As for gas prices it is what it is.

Jeep Wrangler JL As a Jeep Owner, What’s Your Breaking Point? {filename}
No breaking point. Breaks and/or breakdowns will happen; you just have to be prepared for them as much as possible. All vehicles will or have broken down at some point. But the bottom line is you own and drive what you love and/or are happy with. People that worry about what others think of them in terms of appearance, what they own, and the way they live their lives will never be happy. What life is all about is being happy and joyful; happy with your choices, happy with your family, and happy with what you own. The key is to never make decisions in life based on what others think; those same people are just as “flawed” as you and I are. Happy Jeeping in whatever you do or decide to do! God bless.

andy57 and Ramboy said it all for me. I'm on Jeep #5 and probably my last build. Yeah, there were problems and issues along the way, not to mention the "hard" lessons. But each one was a unique experience, and i would not change one bit of that. It all turned out good in the long run.

Simply stated: “Jeep, there’s only one; warts and all”.

Retired and loving it!
None of the above. Been buying vehicles for nearly 60-years and have been thru all of it at one time or another. We learned a long time ago to blunt the promises of a dealer by doing a bit of research before entering the showroom. Scratches happen. We've always kept our cars 12-14 years and took turns buying every 6-7 years. Most recently we sold our '03 TJ in 2023. Just too much rust on the under-carriage. Currently, our '23 JL and '23 Grand Cherokee will likely be our last vehicles.

A small pair of vise grips works wonders; it’s the most versatile tool next to duct tape in the tool box. The automatic turn signal shutoff may struggle though. Or…you could do what a lot of motorists do these days, don’t even use the turn signal!
