I've been reading up on MDS and that really is something. You pay 80K with options out the door specifically for an 8-cyc. and they reduce it to a 6-cyc.?.....NO!, a 4-cyc. This type of damn Govt. overreach is in the same category as low-flow toilets and shower heads. Will it ever STOP!?!

I still haven't been able to determine, under what specific driving conditions, does the 4-cyc. kick in? Can I be assured that everytime I need or want to accelerate, I'll have all 8 cyc. firing? Is it in 4-cyc. mode everytime I'm driving in a constant, steady speed whether it be 45 mph on a city street (or) 80 mph on the highway? Does it go into 4-cyc. mode everytime I'm coasting (or) braking to a stop? Is it in 4-cyc. mode idling at a stop light.

Under what conditions have you experienced the 4-cyc. shut down?

Thanks, Bill
$275 NoLimitz remedy. In town every time you get off or on the throttle the lifters collapse and un collapse , yes 4 cyl activates cruising at low speed, saving no noticeable gas but not idling iirc. HWY it could save some gas… at a price…. The lifters not getting oil allows tarnish and deposits buildup on them in time throwing them out of sync creating the infamous Hemi Tick.

Probably should just play it safe and take a good price on a 26.
That would be my advice BUT ONLY if you're satisfied with the '26 colors and options enough to continue liking it for as long as you usually keep a vehicle. Buyer's remorse due to a quick, no-homework purchase does not feel good.

And this musical chairs game manufacturers play with colors is psychotic. I actually was considering a Bronco a couple of months ago when I saw Orange Fury Metallic as an offered color. I've been wanting that color since 2001. It was 1st available on a Bronco in February of this year, then just 2 mos. later in April, it was deleted. I just hope Jeep doesn't delete Goldilocks before I can feel comfortable placing an order.

I also would order goldilocks if I had to do it right this second with joose being a close second. I'm satisfied with what's available right now, but I wonder what might be coming just 2-3 weeks from now that I might miss out on.
The biggest hold back for me is the model year on the title. I know it's a small issue and I know warranty is based off purchase date anyways, but 5 years from now when I'm trying to resell being the newer model year will definitely increase the value. I wish we could see into the future to know if jeep throws some incentives out there in the next couple months to dump the remainder of the 26s. A couple grand off the top would probably make me feel better about getting the last 26 instead of the first 27.

For me, MDS is currently deactivated. Got annoyed by it. I keep going back and forth with it active and not active.

4 cylinder mode is active only on light throttle.

In 2 - 3 weeks I predict orders will be MY27.

Thanks to both of you for the actual on-the-road effects of MDS. I guess this is the type of thing where an individual has to personally experience MDS over time to determine if it's a negative for them.

It was a negative for me very early on. Very happy with nolimitz turning off MDS and turning on sport mode. Plus added security features.

This where I am now. The Willys 392 has exactly what I want, less the Sky One Touch top.
Don't want to pay the extra $10k for the Moab to get it, especially when Im not a fan of the red accented interior with '41 green.
I get tempted sometimes, but realize I'd regret it later.
So...waiting it out to see if they do offer the SOT.
They offer it on the base Willys, not sure why it wouldn't also be available on the 392 version.
But also hope they don't cancel the Willys 392 before they do.

I just found this thread, and we both are on another similar one in this forum. It’s funny, we are also wanting ā€˜41 (or at least it is the wife’s favorite). My dealer can dealer trade for a Moab in ā€˜41 and contacted me today about it. Like you, I will kick myself if I get rid of my current fun, fast sedan for a Moab only to find a 2027 Willys comes out with SOT in 2-3 weeks for $10,000 less. I also live fairly close to Grainger motors which appears to offer 6% below invoice pricing — and that is the thread that brought me to this one.

Also, forgive my ignorance, but if Dana 50 rear axles were available in 2027, would that have any effect on the transfer case issues I’ve read the 392’s have?

After news of Willys orders being canceled, it forced me to the realization that the Willys ship might have sailed.
Seems odd such a limited run, but from what Ive seen, no mention of the Willys in the 2027 order guide.
My wife asked "so what are you going to do?"
Good question. Right now, I'm leaning toward Moab as well. My wife's never been a fan of the Willys trim anyways.
'41 isn't her favorite, but of all the current colors Granite are '41 are her top choices.
Would love to see Snazzberry come back.
We also decided we really prefer the painted fenders, and since they are available on the Moab now, it's leaning us more that way.

Since we waited this long, I'd wait to order a 2027.
The Dana 50 should handle the power more reliably, but I think they've already made some transmission changes that should help. (2024 or 2025?)

As for other options out there, my wife made it clear she's not a Bronco fan.
We need a Jeep. So much easier for us and the dog to just hop in and go.
I miss having a sports car. But even when I did, we rarely used it. It was just me mostly.
The 392 is the best of both worlds.

Would rather not pay the extra $10k for the Moab, but I feel that chance has passed by.

Will probably wait a few more weeks to see how things settle out.

Keep in mind that when the ā€˜26 wranglers came out the options were extremely limited for a while. I don’t remember exactly.

If you are waiting to see what happens, you might miss the boat on something you want now.

just sayin’

I’m starting to think we are twins. Same thoughts, same color preferences. If Granger is meeting the Mark Dodge discount, probably waiting as well. I’ll be calling Granger in the morning. lol.

You are definitely not wrong, but considering how many Moab’s are still for sale out there, I think plenty will be left over again. There are still brand new FFE for sale in the Midwest. Any thoughts about the Dana 50 or 2027 colors? As of now, I think Jeep has only released about 6 color choices for 2027 — ā€˜41, black, white, red, blue, and granite if I recall correctly.
