I sat through the OSHA 30 class. I was ready to poke my eyes out with a rusty nail by the time it was over. Got the card though. Absolutely none of it pertained to what I do either. Uggh.

Yes, the ‘it couldn’t possibly happen to me’ thinking can be deadly for that group of workers. I’m sure they benefit from your experience telling men like them that things aren’t optional.

I just threaten to kick them off the site until they address it. Works wonders.

Yep, it is company policy to wear your safety gear, and that includes a fine if you don't.
