Fun ones!
Pretty much. You'll need to do some logging in advance before flashing the actual tune, which is essentially driving around with your laptop connected to your OBD2 port with a program running and recording the session.

@bmpcamry09 If you don't mind adding to the wish list, could you please check through VCM and see if there's any sort of torque management setup against these engines? This might be a 6 speed manual specific thing; I recall people were getting some power limit messages on the cluster back when there was a clutch recall for these JLs and I'm wondering if that logic lives within the PCM and can be disabled.
Thanks! And curious about the manual tuning as well.

Theres another forum member who is going to supply me with his manual file read when he gets his stuff ordered and in, so I hope to have the manuals worked out as well

Following. Now that my warranty is over, I would consider a tune but not seeing any for a 3.6 w/eTorque.

Awesome! Are you able to do anything with the rev hang?

I won’t know until I have a look at the file and do some testing and remote Datalogging with whoever wants to be the test dummy since mines an Auto

Spent a couple more hours this morning getting the base tune down. 17 revisions. lol. This will be the starter file I build upon since cam and ignition timing will be dependent on octane your willing to run.

Still waiting for HPT to get the Datalogging issue resolved, so at a stopping point for now. I HAVE to have complete Datalogging to dial in the cam and spark tables to make that hiccup completely go away, I swear I still feel it a TAD in certain circumstances but it is 90 percent reduced.

I’ve got the 8 speed completely dialed in and done. Way more responsive with downshifting. Holds revs a little higher in town. Shifts are quick and crisp but you can’t feel them. I found keeping the stock torque converter settings paired with my custom shift schedule gave the best refinement.

I’ve got torque management on both trans and engine dialed in and good to go. Throttle response is nice and linear and on point now. Paired with the updated shift scheduling the JL already feels 100 times better.

Once HPT gets my datalog ticket resolved, I’ll dive deep into ignition and cam timing. The part throttle spark tables on these are ROUGH. Lots of dips and ridges since there are multiple spark adder and spark reducer tables controlling final spark. I believe these tables are largely responsible for the uneven feeling power delivery around town.

It’ll be worth the wait guys. I’m a perfectionist and I won’t give anyone a file without knowing it’s perfect on my own rig first. I always strive for the best most refined driving tune.

Greatly looking forward to it. You do have me curious though. What octane are you using on your initial test?

Starting with 93 octane so I can find the edge of everything and then dial my way back down

Wish we could still get 93 without hitting a Powersports dealer. We used to get it a few years ago all over until the refinery system out West deleted it all. The only higher octane comes up from Utah now.

Not really wanting to send my original pcm out. Could I purchase a new blank from Jeep send that to them along with my vin#. Or would I need to bring it to a dealer have them program it for my vin# then send it out?
68568654AB is what I show for the part# and it is pretty cheap at only $130.

For that small added cost I would much rather keep my original stock and use the backup to play with.

I was hoping you'd say that.

Amusingly, now that we actually have this option we may now finally realize some reasonably noticeable gains from the few bolt-on parts available to us as well.

One curveball question. I don't recall seeing it, but is there any word if whether flex-fuel will be added, or would we be relegated on having to manually switching between single fuel maps provided we have enough injector space to run e85?

If you find a fairly lenient dealer, the going rate for a dealer to clone a PCM is around $500. Some may not be as nice and force you to buy a PCM through them before they're willing to mess with it.

Looking at my particular file, it appears all parameters for E85 are already repopulated, there is a toggle switch and it doesn’t appear much more would need to change. Obviously I would want to verify through Datalogging, but at least on my 2025 calibration, flex fuel enabling appears to be just a toggle switch and little else since all the “Alcohol” or E85 related tables are populated with what appears to be good data.

E85 is great in DI and forced induction stuff. I’ve done a lot of E85 tuning with Ford 3.5 Ecoboost stuff. On those a lot of it is dependent on the in tank fuel pump and injectors being able to flow the extra fuel required. I imagine this JL wouldn’t need any fuel upgrades since it’s only PI and no turbo, but I would have to test and see. im not sure I’ll personally get into E85 testing as our local E85 usually tests out at E70, and this is just a side thing for me.
