Hooked up and almost finished packing up for our 3 to 4 week RV trip with Jeep in tow. Weather has definitely turned here and summer/dry fall is no more. Headed for Moab and beyond in the morning!

Maybe if I got serious and blogged, added content to my youtube channel, and coerced the wife to startup a seniors ’onlyfans’ site… this venture could be a net positive.
Safe travels and we will see you three! 🙌

The term "jeep" was used as military slang for a new recruit or an untested piece of equipment as early as World War I, and this is one of several theories about the origin of the name for the iconic vehicle.
The name's origin is mysterious and likely influenced by several factors:
  • Military slang: Before the iconic vehicle appeared in World War II, the word "jeep" was used by soldiers to refer to any new or unproven person or machine. This usage was still current when the military introduced the new 4x4 reconnaissance vehicles in 1940.
  • Comic strip character: A magical, resourceful creature named "Eugene the Jeep," who could go anywhere and do anything, first appeared in the Popeye comic strip in 1936. His popularity made the word familiar to the public and was often used to describe something extraordinary.
  • Vehicle name ("GP"): One of the early prototypes was the Ford Model GP, which was phonetically pronounced "Gee Pee". The military vehicles were also referred to as "General Purpose" or "Government Purpose" vehicles, which could have been slurred into "jeep".
The name was cemented in 1941, when a Willys-Overland test driver drove a prototype up the steps of the U.S. Capitol building. When asked what it was, he reportedly answered, "It's a jeep," and the story was picked up by a national newspaper column. Willys-Overland would later be awarded the trademark for the name in 1950.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
It was our 36 year wedding anniversary yesterday. Loaded my wife in the Jeep and cruised back roads, primarily dirt roads for most of the day. We did stop off at a gun store and buy 10mm ammo, actually found a large sale that was open on a Tuesday way out on a dirt road. Bought some new shop rages and Carla bought to skirt for about $2. Eventually ended up at REI in Grand Rapids were Carla scored a nike pair or Altra trail running hiking shoes for %70 off.

What a great day. We finished it up with a four mile hike at one of our favorite local trails.

Evenin' y'all

I'm having a heck of a time getting my brakes back in action after the axle swap.

Details in this thread...

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/help-cant-bleed-brakes-and-get-a-firm-pedal.157426/

Any ideas are much appreciated!

I had a problem once on my LJ. The bleeder screws were not on the top. I flopped them and everything was fine after that.
I let the calipers hang wile I did everything. I just put them on loosely because of the senser install. I would check that. I assume you took out the pink stoppers.
Thats all I can think of. Hope it helps

I didn't think about that but I have had the same problem before. It may be that the calipers are swapped. They bolt in and look OK but the bleeder screw is at the bottom. Air rises in brake fluid so the bleeder needs to be on the top.
