Technically, I didnt flush the coolant I just drained whatever was in the radiator and hoses. It was about 1.5ish gallon I drained. The total system capacity is around 2.7 gallon.

If you only drain the coolant, its not hard. There is a drain valve at the bottom of the radiator, on driver side. I had a harder time due to the after market steering cooler in the way.
It will look like this when you fully FLUSH all the coolant out ;)

and best way to get to it is to just remove the front fascia:

Also, you will most likely need to use plyers (needle nose or better anything wider to grip) to turn that valve

That is the right way to replace the coolant. I didnt bother to repeat it.

Well I was forced to do so since in an emergency, I put the wrong Coolant in :lipssealed: and needed to completely flush out the system before it started to really jell up...I also was replacing my water pump

For the sake of clarity, and for the benefit of those owners who might be unfamiliar with the distinction, that's a cooling system flush, not a simple drain. Thus the varying colors of fluid.

The cooling system capacity of the NA V6, for example, is just 11.2 quarts, or 2.8 gallons.

Sorry @Heimkehr you are correct & I've since edited my post 😇

Also for those wondering...I used distilled water to fill up the Coolant Reservoir after draining each time. Also, after refilling with the Distilled water, you run the engine till you reach operating temp (190-200 degF) and run there for about another min & then shut off the engine then drain again, refill and repeat until you get just water draining...as you can see it took about 8 cycles.

EDIT: OOPS forgot last step for newbies...DRAIN again the water out of your coolant system with a vacuum system to get all the water out and then refill will Mopar 50/50 Coolant or Approved equivalent. This vacuum system is attached to the Coolant Reservoir Tank opening and everything goes through the Coolant Reservoir Tank.

BUT if you don't have the Vacuum System (which is technically called a Coolant Vacuum Leak Tester and is pretty inexpensive & so is a small air compressor), you can do as @c20040215 suggested. This will be fine as the water in the system will evaporate when it gets to boiling temp and will need to be replaced (why you will need to keep checking the Coolant Reservoir level & fill as needed) with appropriate coolant until the system is all 50/50 Coolant again.

I gave her a new Tramp Stamp lol.....this is one of my favorite decals I have found.

Why you ask?

Well, I have loved Star Wars since I was a kid (i'm a 70's baby so I grew up on Episodes IV - VI), and I teach yoga 3-4x a week after my corporate gig. So we have Star Wars and a Crescent Moon (that's no moon!) to combine the two.

(Sadly I don’t have photos of my installing it, these are in front of one of the studios I teach at because the lighting was actually a bit better)

What are you doing to ensure coolant content after this? Assuming you drain the last clear water, then refill with concentrate I would guess you're only around 35% coolant instead of 50. Draining twice?

I hope Marshall doesn't mind the line jump. :)

What I'll do is refill using premixed OAT coolant. At the point at which I figure my drain & refill count gets me close to the desired 50/50 ratio, I'll then use the related tester (see examples here) to determine if I need to continue, or if things are as they should be.

While the premix is overpriced for what it is, I tend to use it for the sake of convenience. Yes, the initial refill of premix after draining the distilled water won't usually establish the necessary 50/50 reading. Be sure to have more coolant on hand that you might believe you need for the task.

I would say under the normal circumstance, you don't need to flush the system.
What the radiator holds is about half of the total capacity, if you drain it, replace it with fresh 50/50, and repeat it once or twice. Do it within the OEM suggested interval. That is more than enough to keep your cooling system healthy.
