FOr the first 48 hours after the surgery, I get 15 minutes upright for every 2 hrs on my back...just to give my back a break... Day 3 and 4, 2 hrs ceiling and 2 hrs upright. After that, no flying for 1 week, no straining for 2 weeks, avoid sweat in eyes by limiting lifting, bending or exercise for 1 week. No swimming, hot tubs, or eye makeup for 1 week. Avoid excessive dust or dirt for 1 week (DO NOT RUB EYES!!!)...You got this man! Hopefully a speedy recovery (not that work has to know)!
