I have found absolutely bubkes in this department.

I'm looking for a cargo cover that fully covers the cargo area, doesn't require the removal of any of the hardware required to have the soft top up (e.g. tailgate bar retainers), and allows the soft top to fully retract and lock back. I've found a ton of options that interfere with the soft top locking back all the way (so mostly soft-top-compatible), but they need to be opened partially to get the soft top all the way down and I don't want stuff blowing out the back of my Jeep when I'm driving.

At this point I'm not even picky about the other features. Could be hard, could be soft, as long as I can fold my soft top back all the way, can put my soft top up all the way, and can drive around without anything blowing out of the trunk and without showing my cargo off to the world.

Anybody know anything that fits the bill?

Not quite a cover, but I run these mesh inserts all summer, love them. They help keep things in place in back top up or down, and cuts buffeting for the kids in the rear, and from a bit of distance you can't see thru them so a bit of concealment. Smittybuilt...

There is nothing that will cover everything and allow the soft top to lock. I got a basic one which is 2 pieces and does not lock into the seats so someone can fold seats down to get back there. I can rig something easy to strap it to the hooks on seat to prevent this. For me it is just to keep people from seeing what is in the back not a full security system.
I use 3 velcro straps plus 2 included with soft top- 1 in the middle when the top is down that goes around the whole top-keeps it just at third break lite line and I can see fine out back. The other two go around the brakets of soft top/. Plemty of highway and local miles this way and not an issue at all.

I got mine from Dirt Road Cred as I wanted something simple to install. I am not sure he is making them anymore or coming out with a new version that has 2 latches and locks to the seats as well.

I agree with Kahuna since the soft top drops down below the rails, a cover cannot fully-cover the cargo area at the same time. I unfortunately bought a hard security cover almost 5 years ago which isn't simple to constantly disassemble the back panel so my soft top would sit on the hard cover which would eventually wear holes due to vibrations. I've removed that cover and it just sits in the attic.

I've seen some postings of soft covers with a vertical panel that would appear to keep most rain out in safari mode. But I don't know if only a portion of that back could be disconnected to allow the top to fully drop. That would be nice.

I have the Tuffy security deck and one side locks no problem. The other lock is broken so I’m not positive on having both lock but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Either way I have two luggage straps I wrap around the soft top when it’s down. No issues on highways.

I'd been looking at the DRC cover. I have child safety seats in my back seat, so that'd make it harder to flip the seats forward.

I agree with Kahuna since the soft top drops down below the rails, a cover cannot fully-cover the cargo area at the same time.

I was thinking it wouldn't be too hard for a manufacturer to make one that would work. It would just need a dip down at the tailgate end (see my totally awesome cross-sectional technical drawing).

Probably due to demand since those of us running only soft tops is a smaller market.

You mentioned the DRC cover which appears to be a hard cover. I bought a Jeep Backbone hard cover when they were in business and applied very thick foam in the corners where the soft top would rest. But the flex of the Jeep still wears on the material. I've got the premium tan sail cloth and it was easy to see where this wasn't a good long term solution without having to remove that back panel every time I wanted to drop the top which was a pain.

for $94 that's really tempting to just try out. don't like it just give it away to a jeep buddy.

I have the GPCA, yes it will sag on the side the soft top rests when folded back. but what I did to prevent flapping is I got 2 nylon straps that I use to keep the soft top closed. I got them at the Walmart camping area. I had my soft top folded back from July 4, 23 till Labor Day 23 no issues. It does have some velcro straps you can always re-stretch and attach to straighten it up and it does give you a sense of security, I will be looking at the Smittybilt posted earlier since that should help conceal the GPCA.
