just a quick follow up, they couldn’t just add the option ? They had to cancel and reorder? That’s seems odd. I have heard of people making changes on orders right up until they get scheduled. Thanks

Since it was just a couple of days since his order, it is far safer to cancel and get a 'clean' order in the system vs trying to change/add to an existing order.

My order went in Feb 19 and was scheduled Feb 22...I wanted the factory winch but Jeep was not and is still not allowing you to add a winch to a 2-door X package. If that changes before she enters production, the dealer is going to try and add the winch option, highly unlikely we will be successful...But at least the dealer is willing to try!

It was easier actually. If changes are needed within a day or two of placing the order, it’s logistically quicker to cancel / reorder. Longer than that, you have to request the change from Jeep and wait for their approval and that alone could be a week or more. So cancel/reorder was immediate gratification! ?

I did some digging into this Aux/Receiver issue using Rubicons on dealer lots and looking at the stickers and build sheets. From what I can tell, the production cutoff date was around 2/11, (give or take a day or two) so vehicles produced after that will have "Trailer Tow Prep Package" listed under the Options part of the build sheet and line item "Aux Switches" and "Class II receiver Hitch" will be missing under the standard equip. Interestingly, Trailer Tow Prep Package is also not listed on the window sticker. We know that the TTPP includes the 7pin and 4 pin connecter but unfortunately the build sheets don't breakdown what else is in the TTPP.

Mine was ordered 12/6, scheduled on 2/22, in production 3/13, built 3/21, and shipped 3/23. Receiver and aux switches are on the build sheet. Rubicon X 4xe. Window sticker doesn’t have the $95 option on it.

I was looking at vehicle built for the dealer lots (not sold orders) but I would still say you got lucky because others who ordered around when you tidbit produced after mid-February had missing parts. Jeep just did a poor job of reviewing open orders that were in process when they decided to hack the Trailer Tow equipment.

How are you all getting estimated build dates once the order is in D1? The dealer has that info? I'm just looking at the online status. My 1st order, with the missing switches and hitch, has been in D1 now 39 days. My new order has been in C confirmed for 14 days, not even at D1 yet. Just feels like production is at a complete standstill.

'Shenanigans' has been thrown out and I agree. I ordered a 2019 BMW X5 in late 2018. Refreshed model and it went from order to delivery in about 2 months. Clear progress and communication from day 1. And guess what? Standard features were all there! Feels like Jeep production is a joke compared to that experience.

The thread that started pointing out this issue: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2024-rubicon-x-tow-pkg-and-aux-switches.124748/ was started on 2/5. That was a delivered Jeep, so the production date was even earlier.

There may not have been a distinct cutoff date for this.

EDIT: Actually looking back through that thread, and the OP's build date was 1/10. If anything, it could have been an order date cutoff. My order date was 12/15 and while mine is still on a train so I can't say definitively, all evidence points to them not being on my jeep.

I believe you are right about an order date cutoff timeframe. I ordered on 9-21-23 built on 2-16-24 and both switches and hitch were installed. They were also on the build sheet.

I get that message too, so their tracking service is probably offline right now, since mine was shipped and is on a train.

Same here. My first thought was that it dropped off the train and I'll have to wait another 5 1/2 months.

Okay, everyone I have an update. Jeep "Doesn't" Care as we all know. Here's the response I received from them on the hitch and switches issue:

My name is Rohini from Jeep Information Center. We appreciate the chance to respond to your inquiry and our main goal is to ensure your satisfaction.

Trailer Tow and Auxiliary Switch Group (ADH) is optional on all 2TY Customer Preferred packages. As per the sales code I can see that your order was not selected with this optional package. That's the reason why your 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Rubicon 4XE was not equipped with the Trailer Hitch and the auxiliary switches. We created this pop-up in the ordering system, so dealers are aware when placing orders.

If you have any outstanding questions, I strongly recommend contacting your ordering dealership.

If you have any vehicle concerns please allow us to help you in anyway we can by contacting our Jeep Customer Care Center, we are and always will be available to you regarding your vehicle concerns.

Contact Number : 877-426-5337

Sincerely,
Rohini
Jeep Information Center

I was going to purchase the High Altitude I originally ordered, but ultimately decided not to due to the 3.73 gearing ratio. I was planning on lifting the vehicle and prefer the 4.10 gears. I also will not be settling for the Rubicon they sent with the missing equipment. Purchasing either of these vehicles ultimately tells Jeep what they did was okay and it's not. So alas, I am moving on.
