Two problems when putting these into a factory halogen truck:

1. The hyperflash, turn signal out lights in the dash. Well documented, turn the 3 related Diagnostics settings to "No" in the BCM.

2. You've still got codes if you scan:

This has been posted before, and is the cause of that:

Pin 1 of the DRL harness on a factory LED truck is a fault sense wire, and runs to BCM pins 25 and 28 of BCM C6/F, 1 per side. Pin 1 of a factory halogen truck is the side marker control circuit, and runs to BCM pins 5 and 10 of BCM C1/A, 1 per side.

Now - you can run these wires if you want, by depinning and taping off Pin 1 of the body harness side of the DRL connector, and running a new wire per side to connector XY401A WAYYYY deep in the dash, or directly to the BCM C6/F connector. All you gain is the truck will sense when a light is out and tell you. Not worth it to me...I'll see they're out from the reflection in front of me at a stoplight.

So - you still have the faults when you scan. Simple - depin Pin 1 from the DRL harness, DRL side. Video I made:

Cliffs:

1. Turn off the 3 Diagnostics settings for turn lamps.

2. Depin Pin 1 from the DRL light harness.

No hyperflash, no dash errors, no codes, no wires going to the wrong place.

Parts of this information has been discussed many times across the forums but never all condensed into one post so I hope this helps someone.

Thank you for this info. How did this go for you? I’m having trouble with depinning that wire you are speaking of prior to install. I’m almost to the point of just cutting the wire and placing electrical tape. Would this be just as good? I could splice them back together If needed?

Yes, you can cut it. Just cut it somewhere where you can easily add a waterproof splice. ( enough slack and access both sides ).

Ok good. I’m assuming the side markers worked fine after cutting?

Yes 0 change. On LED DRLs the side marker is controlled by the assembly.
