Ideally, yes. The twist creates a pairing between the wires that helps prevent outside signal inference and keep the signal clean.

Any interference would need to be uniform interference and the only way to do that is to twist or bond the wiring together for any length. You can get real fancy and use shielded twisted pair wiring, but that's more for aviation or video stuff.
