Looking for some tips on those who have installed the Teraflex hinged tire carri… having a little trouble getting the tailgate lined up right and closing just right. Need some tips on the finer adjustments.

Mine looked similar to yours on my first attempt to align everything. I watched the alignment part of this video a few times and was able to get everything much better, but not as totally perfect as my OCD would prefer.

The trouble I had was on the opposite side of what you're taking photos of. Where the gate closes against the body. I do not see your issue however, it was a pain in the ass to get it and took me several adjustments to get it right. Start a little higher than what it needs because the weight should bring it down a little.
Have had zero issues since.

Thanks Tim, I followed this video pretty closely when doing the install. Might just need to give it another go with a bit more patients.

Troy, If you look at the top of my tailgate right where it meets the body you can see what I am dealing with. I think adjusted my handle side too high to deal with the weight of the wheel/tire. Just need to finely adjust the level of the tailgate a bit and I will be in good shape.

Jumping into this thread to see if anyone has advice on sqeaking. My tailgate creaks every time I open and close it. It's slowly gotten worse over time. It was installed back in July.

have you tried using blue painters tape. remove the spare tire. and with the gate closed tape it in 3-4 spots on each side. loosen the bolts on the tailgate and use plastic trim tools to make minor movements on the side needed. IE your passenger side is low. you may need to open the holes a couple thousands of an inch but be care not to open them to much. also once you get it where you want make sure you use some lock tight purple or blue. I prefer the purple as it for screws smaller than 1/4" in diameter. and it comes of easier than the blue to keep from stripping the heads on the torx bolts. hope this helps!

Yeah I did that initially, its pretty close to right. Just need to make fine adjustments.

Thread jumper :)

A popular squeak location is the little pinch roller assembly that provides the detent stops for holding the swing gate open. That assembly is located inside the body where the swing gate detent arm enters. Clean up the detent arm with a damp rag with the swing gate fully open, then as suggested by @Maverick909 spray some lube in on those rollers (above and below the arm).

So upon further inspection the creak is definitely coming from these 2 hinges.

I'm going to buy some of that white lithium grease spray and see if that helps the situation.

Well, I stand corrected. The noise was not definitely coming from the hinges. @Left Field was absolutely right that the noise was from the arm.

The spray lithium white grease that @Maverick909 suggested worked great. Will hopefully be creak free for the foreseeable future.

Thanks all for the tips!
