That (red) painted drop hitch and ball is cool as chitt. My guess is you have to change the tow ball before towing as no way you can establish necessary ground that trailer lighting needs with that ball painted ??

Definitely no rattle! The table is very solid and is held in the stow position by two VERY strong magnets. The magnets prevent the rattle compared to the tables that use a latch system.
I have the latch system on mine with no rattle.

I haven't done the wiring for the hitch so in the meantime is just extra protection if I get rear ended or I back into something

I'd keep the red .. I was serious in my comment, it looks great!

Just get a similar drop hitch and ball that you keep unpainted for when you do tow. OR you can quickly sand off the paint on the ball with some emery paper when you need to tow. Your trailer lights will be a no go cause of the paint and it not allowing a ground.
