Good afternoon all,
Let me preface by saying my experience off-roading is about as limited as it gets. I've been on some great trails in a stock Sahara and now, just last week, in the same jeep, but with a 2.5" lift. I'm going to leave the brand out, for now, because I'm not sure this is really a problem or out of the norm. So on my friends jeep, this is the setup:
35" toyos (LT 35X12.50R-17 121R E2 Toyo Open Country A/T3 )
method 17's
2.5" lift
adjustable control arms
adjustable front and rear track bars
adjustable front and rear sway bar links
fox shocks
This lift was installed only a few hundred miles ago. The shop that installed it is also going to inspect and tighten, adjust anything at the 1000 mile mark, so it's going back in a few weeks. What I'd like to know is if my concerns are real and they might be able to adjust, or its just a lifted jeep and to get used to it. So here it goes:
When you're driving, mainly noticeable on pavement, the jeep doesn't pull at all and tracks very straight. However, when you go to turn, slow or high speed, the jeep has the slightest surge in the direction you are turning. But i can't stay it "pulls." Its just a slight tug in the direction you're going and then it's solid. Steering feel is nice, when you get past this tiny pulse in the same direction. Because its in the same direction you're turning, its not a major deal, but felt weird to me.
So, what say you lifted and experienced folks? Normal or something that can be adjusted?
