No disagreement. I totally believe that on the job training makes someone. Everyone has to learn. Apprenticeships are worth it. As long as the student is willing to learn and try. I came into my job with an education, but wouldn’t be who I am without the training and mentoring I got. Very thankful for that.

Hense going back to the nephew helping his Uncle out and as he grew older and opted out of any adult education ...he becomes the tradesman and learns as he goes at your expense !!!

The window in my Industry is wide open for anyone who thinks they are skilled and qualified !,,,so we have to weed them out one by one until we find the ones who want to get up in the morning and finish that awesome shower stall , or Kitchen cabinet install or siding , roofing , trim work -etc. ....Those are the ones we take care of very well ! ( its a dying breed if really skilled tradesman ) .

Then you have the client !!! . there are some who know whats involved and how much it costs in todays market and just cut a check and say when can you start . Then you have clients who had work done 5 - 10 -15 yrs ago and can't believe why its so expensive so they cut there own corners and go with cheaper materials and are never happy with the finished product so they nit-pik to lower the balance due !....grrrrrr
And last you have the do-it "your selfers " who would much like to sub out there own people and buy there own materials and just want me to carry the permit !...Nope! , So they end up hiring us to do there remodel because the state requires permitting - contract is signed - job gets scheduled - starting day we go in and they have had other people already doing some work to save money !!! GRRRRR!!!! - so now we get red tagged and have to deal with the client about the fees to correct the work and the fines to get the permitting right again

It gets outta hand sometimes !

my rant is done and my apologies if you've read this far . Its just a rough industry !!

I saw 2.75 on Amazon, is that what you mean? I was actually thinking of the mopar sill guards along with the tape to cover the missed areas. I could prolly get away with the smaller stuff since I won't need to cover the bottom. What do you think since you've done it?

I like it so far. It's covering everything my foot touches as I get out. If you're just using it in conjunction with the sill guards then the 2.75 should do you fine.

We do do dove tail joinery in our custom work on just about anything the jig will fit and all of our cabinets are 100% all wood with dove tail drawer boxes .
