I think you're SOL trying to buy the programmed odometer. They are like that soup guy from Seinfeld lol. I would love to hear how you make out...Yeah, I read your previous post about the dealer lot purgatory. F that!
From what I've gathered so far, the dealer is only needed to carry the odometer reading over to the new one, and program the splash screen to the specific model (Sport, Sahara, or Rubicon).
I don’t care about the odometer, as I will never sell the Jeep and can simply add 78k to the new reading to keep my own maintenance on schedule. I also have a Tazer mini that can change the splash screen to Rubicon, if it's not already set that way.
I'm stopping on the way home today, to see if a dealer will sell me the part. If not, I may entertain a refurbished one from that link above.
Regarding a used (not refurbished) IC, and maybe this was just my experience(s) with the vendor, but I've had incredibly good service and terrific used parts from LKQ online 2x.
I bought the replacement IC (the one that needs to be programmed) for $145 shipped to my residential home. Its donor was a smashed up and salvaged JL. I figured if it made it out OK with the salvage crash, it should be battle hardened.
Best of all, and I wasn't expecting this, they sent me an upgraded IC. I told them I needed a replacement for my 2020 Sport S (with the small black and white digital display in the middle of the IC) and they sent me a "compatible" IC. A full 3.5 inch color model from a JL Rubicon. Makes looking forward while driving a completely different experience. Maybe I' just a geek but I love the animated Jeep cruising across the scene at startup... Plus it has offered pages? huh, how?
BTW, 100% plug and pray. It's perfect, well, except for the miles but Ive been in touch with one of the odometer shops that appear on the first google search page (thanks Gator).
