Is the plane in front a P-40 Warhawk, and the one in back a P-51 Mustang?

I love that you are asking! I do not believe the leader is a P-40. There have been precious few at the Reno air races over the years - any that have ventured have technically been British Tomahawk P-40 variants, and not competitive to my knowledge. Although aircraft are often heavily modified for this racing, this guy doesn't look to have the nose intake cowling of a P-40. Might very well be a Yak-9, with that franken-mustang in the trailing position. All awesome, regardless!!
