oh this tire carrier is SUPER beefy and the welds are done by hand here in California not some rando guy in China or something.

I absolutely would buy and install this tire carrier again. There’s no rattle, no tools required to install or remove the spare tire, can accept any bolt pattern you may go to in the future and best of all, it’s removable (2 bolts).

So if you want to run without a spare tire for the more technical offroad parks it’s easily done and won’t look as dumb as having a tire carrier with no tire on it. Lol

I do recommend getting some water proof, disconnect-able connectors for the electronics on the tire carrier.

Oh and I used my Park-Tool cable routing tool to easily route the camera and brake light cable through the carrier.

If you’ve got anymore questions about it, let me know.
Yep, I'm familiar with Genright quality first hand. I have their tube fenders on another jeep now and their liners.
I have quick disconnects on wiring already as well.

I researched the carrier and bumpers back a few years ago and been kicking myself since. PS really was a letdown from the early years quality level. They were a fantastic small shop company then they sold when the owner (name?) sold out due to illness.

Seeing yours has really got me back on it. I hate removing high dollar crap. Will also be dumping the bumper and going with the Genright aluminum as well.

Thanks!

Installed these today. What a difference! They are especially useful if you're running a larger spare on a swing arm carrier that blocks a significant portion of the the OEM reverse lights output. No tapping or splicing of the factory wire was required either.

The C1R operates as a reverse light, running light with the tail lights, and 4th brake light. The SS3 Sport Pod (flood pattern) was wired to only come on as a reverse light. I did this by installing the below DD 7 pin trailer harness and modifying one end with a 2 pin connector for the SS3 pod:

https://www.diodedynamics.com/stage-series-c1r-7-pin-dual-output-trailer-wiring-harness.html

This made for a super clean install and got rid of the need to tap/splice into any OEM wiring. Plus, my tow hitch wiring remains functional.

Here's another 7 Pin trailer wiring harness that could be used for similar auxiliary lighting applications that do not need the brake light function.

Super happy with the result!

Good looking Sahara! Are those factory Rubicon takeoff wheels/tires? I'm assuming you're using stock suspension-- how does it drive with the 33s?

My Sahara should arrive in a week or two, and I'm contemplating a similar setup to yours.

How do like that phone mount? Do you have a picture with the phone attached to the mount?
So far so good but it's only been a short time. I like the smaller size and the placement on the right side of the radio where it does not impose / interfere with viewing the screen or blocking my driver side vent. It's a bit pricey for what it is and the magnetic rings provided for back of phone have flimsy adhesive. Purchased Mophie magnetic rings to replace the provided ones and they are so much better quality. Will need to see how it lasts over time.

I’ve been eyeing that phone mount. Didn’t realize you can attach it to the right side of the radio vs the left (which install video shows).

I saw your photos on a previous post and this is exactly how my husband changed my batteries out for me! I’d say I helped but I just was there as moral (nagging I am sure to him!) support. My role was to bungee back the fuse tray haha or show him photos on particular steps!

Thank you for posting this as I can attest this route was not hard, just being careful got it done easily. I was too concerned with the fender clips breaking to go the fender route on my baby and I’m glad I (really he) didn’t! ?

I saw that video and initially thought the same. The description section advises you can mount on either side or both (for passengers). Mounts fine on either side.

I wish!
I used 1000 grit sandpaper to sand off the “aux 1 through 4” labels

then Had them professionally painted to match as close as possible (actually used cerakote)

then Had them laser engraved for the logos I want. (I’m adding heated seats to both front and rear so that’s what the logos are)

I had done it once before with the Lasfit kit but the backlight color temp doesn’t match oem and I had tried to match them to the rubicon red and didn’t quite get there.

so did it with the mopar kit (so the backlight color tempt matches) and in black

Looks good. I have those, just haven't got around to installing them yet. I keep fooling around with my winch wiring.
