My driver side rear shock is leaking. It should be covered by warranty. I might just want to upgrade looking for suggestions. Not looking to spend $1,000 for a set.

Thanks

A Fox 2.0 or Falcon 2.1 set would be an upgrade, but you're pushing that $1000 limit. You can get them both for under $1000, but it's closeish. The Fox set is a little cheaper (showing ~$700 for all 4 on Quadratec) or ~$930 for the Falcons. Depending on how close you're OK getting to that $1000 limit, those would be my suggestion if you want an upgrade.

What don't you like about the stock dampers?

You can probably find someone here with a Rubicon take-off shock in their garage that they will give you for free to replace the damaged one. If you are going to upgrade, I would suggest buy once, cry once when it comes to aftermarket shocks. No sense lowering your ride quality by putting junk on a vehicle that costs $60K+.

I had two rubi shocks leak in less than a 3 years, as they were a bit too short for my "lift" and kept overextending. I upgraded to longer Bilstein shocks. $400 for the 4 shocks. They've been solid so far.

measure your shock mounts eye-to-eye and get something that fits nicely on your lifted Jeep. If your current shocks are too small for your lift that could be why it is leaking.
