I am soon to receive my 2022 Rubicon with the extreme recon package I am looking especially for a good bug deflector that works to keep my windshield clear one that I can put on that doesn’t require drilling, I live in South Carolina during the summer of course it’s splat all the time on the windshield with the bugs here , so any recommendations greatly appreciated

Guys/gals that have bug deflectors ...stone guard's usually report the thing does cut down on windshield bug hits and pebble hits but they are not all that great.... You still get some bugs to the windshield.

I travel the interstates often, so I wanted something to deflect bugs and small stones and to keep the front end of the JL from getting chipped up. I also wanted some black contrast on the front of my JL.

This offering helped a bit with bug hits and small stone hits and indeed has prevented front stone chips/chips.

No drilling required. Fastens on easily and very securely with 3M double sided tape.

i like the OEM Mopar 82215367 - Prefect fit easy mounting and mounted with screws so easy to remove to wax. Others are mounted with self stick tape so not easy to take off and on...

I bought that one too. It looks great and works amazingly. That's what I'd buy if I was looking again for sure.

@jaardappel

On edit: Over 90,000 miles with it on my Jl. Was installed 9/23/2019. Today 7/9/24, It is still firmly attached and looks as good as the day I installed it.

I have driven with mine on the JL for well over 40,000 miles and yes, it has stopped rock dings on the front and cut down on the bugs and crapola from hitting the windshield.

YES, it looks better then most offerings out there.

To me the offerings that screw on, are made of that sun glass material look like crapola.... and they do not hold up well over time and they vibrate/move around a bit at freeway speeds..

The Bushwacker 14093 Trail Armor Hood Stone Guard Black Textured Finish, I installed over 2 yrs ago, has seen lots of mileage, Florida Sun and more... along with offroad mud and more and still looks as new. The 3M double sided tape has never let go... that Bushwacker 14093 is on there... No movement or vibrations, etc. from the Bushwacker 14093.

Is the backside of the Mopar shield open or flush fit with the hood?

Looks really nice, but thought it'd be a pain to unbolt every time you wanna wash/wax to clean any dirt that gets stuck underneath it.

Lol….Unbolting is a heck of a lot easier than having to keep adding two-sided adhesive every time you decide remove them, right….

Here is another JL with the Bushwacker 14093..

Don't make up your mind on any brand stone guard / bug deflector until you see lots of pics ... and possibly to see in person.

Try to find one you like that fastens firmly/securely to the JL in such way, that there is no space between the guard and the vehicle.

You don't want to have to be continually cleaning crapola from under the guard, have it buzzing / vibrating, whistling and such..

ALSO, you might want to find / select a guard that does not have a logo / brand name on it.

I know, I for one.... do not want a bunch of different logos plastered on the vehicle, from one end of the Jeep to the other..

You can find a few brand guards that do not have Jeep, AVS or such tattooed on them..

I agree I don’t need to be a driving advertisement on wheels, I prefer products that work well and are plain and simple, many thanks again for your reply on this
