No rear seat

My rear seat came out day one. I didn’t like the custom fit mats available (plastic & slippery), so I purchased a rubber universal mat and cut it to fit. I use the rear seat mounts to tie my cooler down via straps.

Does the extended Weathertech cargo mat still allow the rear seats to be reinstalled and usable over the forward end of the mat? Can't really tell from the pictures if it's blocking off where rear passenger legs would go, though it kinda looks that way.

I built a cargo place made from wood, covered with rough carpet.

It is also my platform for a later drawer conversion.

And I also putted a rifle holder in.

It does work fine with the rear seat in place. Not the best pic, but you can see where it ends. The edge of it is a perfect umbrella holder with my setup.

Edit: In case anyone else wanted to see how this particular mat looked visually with the seat installed (both down and tipped up) and how far it sticks out beneath the rear seat, here's a good video review I found..

Molle isn't spaced correctly on Rubicon seat backs

However, I did find off-brand pouches at Academy Sports in several sizes that are perfect (Drivers Seat)...Found passenger seat camo ID/magazine pouch at a random Army Navy store.

Old picture, haven't removed seat from my new Rubicon yet.

My JL's rear seat has been out almost 3 years and the passengers seat 4 months. I should have removed the passenger seat years ago.

That would be one way to keep my wife out of the F** Jeep

I pulled the rear seat on day 1, listed it as a giveaway on day 2.. My cargo mat is from Rugged Ridge, and the space is adequate for my ride-along mechanic....you heard of "trunk monkeys"? Well, here's what we use in my neihhborhood.
