Hey everyone,
I’m sure there are several posts about aftermarket radio options for the Jeep JL, but all of the ones I’ve seen so far are kinda old and my google searches have been futile.
I have a 2018 JLU Sport with the Uconnect 3 radio. I’m suffering from the issue of cutting out/power loss that many owners have had. I’m wondering what options are out there for upgrading the radio besides the Uconnect 4 upgrade provided by infotainment.

Lots on the electronics sub forum. However I have the JVC kwm650 by head unit. Nice being able to connect to aftermarket amp with RCA cables. What's your budget? Probably look to budget 600 to 700 for the new head unit.

For this head unit what all did you have to buy harnesses/wires/etc. Or did you have someone install it? Been looking to see if there are options that aren't the insanely expensive plug and play ones.

I got the metra dash kit, idatalink wire harness, idatalink re module, metra antanna adapter, xm adapter. There is a module you need for the back up camera, i would go with the kwm750bt as there are USBs in the back for the stock ports.

I also did it myself, just take your time and make sure you put aside a few hours if you're doing it yourself.

Nice thing about the head unit is the RCA ports to send the audio signal to an amp and be able to run new wire for aftermarket speakers, or sub.

I would go with a mono amp for the sub and 4 channel amp for the speakers, this allows more power to be drawn for both the speakers and sub\s
