Placed Gupton order on 3/3 for '22 Sport S w/ 3.6 Etorque Auto, (dual top, cold weather, convenience, tech, alpine). Originally requested 3.6 auto with ESS but at the time dealership said 3.6 auto could only be ordered with e-torque. I agreed to the order but was initially a bit hesitant due to the new, unknown (to me) tech. POC confirmed etorque option. However in the last couple of months, I've read of several people who have enjoyed the etorque upgrade and have warmed up to the idea. So today, window sticker shows up on crypto and price is $1,250 less than POC. "Engine: 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine Upg with Stop/Start" So, NO e-torque.??
I find it strange that something was missed but in this case its the one thing I didn't really ask for. I assume I just accept it as an extra discount and apply that money to something else. And expect the price I agreed on to be adjusted to reflect the actual % off invoice price.. Anyone have similar situations?

Yep. Don't have my window sticker yet but I checked my build sheet and it looks like I also did not get the eTorque engine which I ordered.

Others have said Jeep called them in advance to give them a heads up, I assume you like me, didn't get the heads up either...

There's been at least one thread on here in the past couple of days about Jeep contacting someone about switching their in progress order to a non e-torque engine. The e-torque 3.6 isn't currently available. Rather than cancel or postpone the build, Jeep/Stellantis is offering the non e-torque 3.6 as an alternative.

They were limited on supply of the eTorque. Same thing happened to me, but Jeep Wave called me a couple of days before it was built to tell me about the swap.

Well, I assume most people don't really care about the e-torque then..? How does Jeep Wave show up on a caller ID? Just wondering if I may have screened it inadvertently.

For me it showed as Jeep Wave. I did ask if I even had an option. It sounded like I didn’t. She said they had already made the switch in the system and she was just calling to inform me. She said they were doing it to make sure there wouldn’t be delays on my build.

I’m guessing the only option I would have had was to work through my dealer. But I’m guessing to get the eTorque I would have had to wait for MY 2023 and I wasn’t willing to do that. I wasn’t particularly set on that anyway, it was just the only option will an automatic.

Just got my "no eTorque for you" notice. Dealer had to reach out to regional guy and get that information. My advice right now is that if you are a Oct/Nov/Dec order with 3.6 eTorque still in frozen D status, reach out to your dealership and see if the engine is the holdup. My salesman says that Jeep is working its way through all the existing eTorque orders calling the customers but that is taking a long time to complete.

They should just put in the regular V6 and not tell you, would save so much time. Oh, hey, that's what they did to me according to my build sheet ?

I ordered 04/01. Originally wanted the ESS engine cause it was the cheaper v-6. They built everything out and came back and said that engine wasn't available and the E-torque was the only one available. So I said sure. A couple of weeks ago I get a message saying that in order to ensure my build was a 2022 they were going to put the ESS engine instead of the e-torque and the sticker price would reflect the change. Cool! no bigs. I reached out to my dealership as I didn't have a von or vin to get an update. (I never asked for them because I knew I would be checking several times a day.) He replied quickly and told me it was already built waiting for the train. Sent me the build sheet and I used that with the vin to pull up the window sticker and it shows the e-torque. Showed status KZ-released by plant and invoiced. JLUS Altitude auto, cold weather, tow, anti-spin.
