I am installing the 2" mopar suspension lift with fox shocks on my 2021 JLU Sahara Altitude. The plan is to run 37/12.5s soon after the lift. Will my tires rub? Is it absolutely required to install a fender chop kit? For example one from QuakeLED that comes with LED DRLs. See below.

Jeep Wrangler JL Gladiator JT 9.5 x 0.75 Inch Slim Chop Kit DRL with Sequential Switchback Turn Signal and Side Marker Light (quakeled.com)

I will eventually install the the above kit, but would like to not have to do it immediately?

The MOPAR lift usually nets over 2” of lift for us non-4xe types. If that trend carries over, your height will be fine.
However, what wheels do you plan to use? You may need aftermarket wheels or spacers to keep the tires out of suspension components.

Ill def be getting aftermarket wheels with the tires, just havent landed on a set yet. Trying to determine the right offset it tough. I like some wheel poke, but nothing crazy, just a couple inches.

If you can find a set with 4.5” of backspacing, I think you’ll be future proof for any other suspension upgrades.

So 4.5" of backspacing would be a -13 offset. Since thats an unusual number lets just say -12. Are you saying that 4.5" and more shouldn't rub or 4.5" and less shouldn't rub?

I’m bad at offsets, but my understanding is that backspacing is a function of wheel width and offset. Backspacing is the important metric here though. It allows you to clear suspension components in more lift kits by gauging how deep into the tire the axle has to reach.
However, the further out you push the tires the more your fenders, bumper, etc becomes a concern. Example:
Jeep Wrangler JL Will my tires rub? EEAD1916-FE8E-4B76-83EE-FA7C8CE52E66

Less backspacing or wider axles and I’ll contact my low-clearance sport fender.
As for 4.5”, I believe that guarantees metalcloak won’t rub on any axle. You can get away with less if you have Rubicon width axles. @Roky is the person I’d defer to for Rock Krawler setups. A quick look seems they quote 3.5 and 4.5. 3.5” BS would be 37” tires on narrow axles. I think this is unique to RK due to the control arms being bent for ground clearance instead of tire clearance.
Edit: 4.5” and less should not rub.

I am running 3.5“ back spacing, no rub here. You will get rub on full flex with 4.5 back spacing for sure. You will or might need to remove the inner fenders if you wheel off road a lot.

The current set up im looking at has 5" of backspacing. Will the rub be against the plastic fender liners only? or will i get mechanical rub? I have plans to install American adventure lab inner fender liners, eventually. ill probably wait to install the quake led DRLs with the fender chop kit and the new inner fender liners at the same time.

My primary concern would be rubbing the LCA's at 5" backspacing. Personally I would make sure I clear the suspension components, then if wheeling the fender liners or fenders are an issue, that's easier to correct.

For sure you will get rub, I would think you would also rub in steering also on the control arms and possible on the steering arms. You might look around the forums on people running 17” wheels with 5” of backspace. I did a lot of research before I ordered mine. Because I am going with the 1 ton tie rods also and upgraded knuckles.
