Why US DOT doesn't mandate 3 wire tail light

Which is way better, having separate turn/hazardous yellow light.
I don't think it add too much cost - all asian brand have 3 wire tail light; all domestic make must have 3 wire tail light to sell outside USCAN, seriously USA is like jurassic park now with this awkward silly design. Of course 3 big domestic maker love to save money pass the bare minimal.

I don't get it, backup camera tire sensor is even mandatory now, why add two bulbs to the lamps is so hard,

Agree, since Stop and Turn are the same filament in US, lose that filament, lose 2 functions. Having one bulb per function is safer

The DOT doesn't do that. Honestly, other than guidelines and restrictions on a few things, they don't interfere with equipment like people think it does. Backup cameras are mandated by NHTSA,.

Fair statement. I don't know who that is for Canada. US relies on the NTHSA. Even if we mandated it, you might not get it in Canada.
