I was born and raised in east-central Iowa. Gravel roads and minimum maintenance roads are abundant. Frost heaves add additional challenges in the spring. At times a tractor is the only way through. The gooey mud will pack in your suspension and steering. It falls out on your driveway over night when parked. That I don't miss.
