I found this very interesting. Seems counter to everything I thought I knew. I thought moving from 20lb wheels to 52lb wheels would be a huge difference in performance, including 0-60, braking, lap time....and probably MPG. This test says no. Thoughts?
Yes he is talking about lap time too. I think testing like this is still applicable to us as some 35" tires are 52lbs, and others can be 75 lbs...and that's without the wheel weight. Add in light weight wheels vs beard locks.....and we can change the weight of our wheel and tire system even more. If this test is right, for 99% of us it seems weight of wheels (and wheel/tire systems) are basically irrelevant, except for feel....but not performance.
