I wonder if the wheel Bolt Pattern and Backspacing will be the same as the JK.
Obviously, 5 Lug , but will the 5/5 lug pattern carry over ?
TJ was 5 lug, 5 / 4.25 pattern, as was earlier YJ.
I hope wheels are interchangeable on JK to JL, I could use my Rubicon take-offs on a "base" JL

I'm guessing they'll stick with 5x5 bolt pattern since the vehicle is not gaining any weight at all. The only reason the new Ram (DT) trucks are going to 6-lug pattern is because capability is increasing and there is an engineering need to.

Yea I would love to know this as well. I would order new wheels for my JK, but only if I could use them on the Jl/JT

Has anyone confirmed that the bolt pattern will remain the same? I'll have new wheels and 35" tires waiting when I get mine and need to figure this out. Also, does anyone have any info on the offset/backspacing of the stock wheels?

Has anyone confirmed this with a dealership/Jeep yet? I have nice new Fuel Beast wheels on my JKU and I really want them on my JLU when I get it!!

The mopar wrangler wheels all have a 12mm offset (4.4" backspacing)...p.14-15 of catalog. I plan on buying a set from Discount Tire. What would be a safe offset range needed for a Sport S to run 33s or 35s? Would anything from 0mm - 25mm work? 0mm offset would put the tire closer to rubbing, and 25mm would put the tire a tad outside the fender flare, right? The mopar catalog doesn't distinguish between wheels for Sport, Sahara, or Rubicon even though the Rubicon axles are wider. Is there a reason why not?

Edit: I was backwards on +/- offset affect on wheel position.

Neg offset moves inside edge of wheel farther from brakes, shocks, etc...which potentially moves the outer edge of the wheel out from under the fender flare.

Pos offset moves inside edge of wheel closer to those items...which tucks the outer edge of the wheel farther under the fender flare. Exact positioning of inner/outer wheel edges depend on wheel width as well.

I think the wheels you are referencing are not stock. Stock wheels are 45mm offset 17 x 7.5. A wheel with a 12mm offset pushes out the tire center by 33mm or 1.3 inches compared to stock. Roughly the same amount as wheel spacers so I think 12mm should be fine.

Edit: assumes JL stock wheels have the same offset as a JK

Agreed. JK stock wheels have about 6.25" backspacing, right? (I read that on the JK forum). I also assume JK & JL stock are similar.

However, JL mopar wheels have 4.4" backspacing. I assume the mopar wheels have less backspacing so that larger tires (33"-35") won't rub when fully turned. I'm basing my own wheel purchase on that 4.4" number. Keeping that 4.4" backspacing will push the outer edge of the wheel/tire out from under the fender flare with a wider wheel. I think that's why they only sell a wheel with a 7.5" width. The 8.5" width wheels (with -10mm offset) I plan to buy should only stick out an extra inch beyond the mopar wheels.

Here is a calculator for any of you who want to find out what offset to look for based on the width of the wheel you want. Just type in the wheel width and the 4.4" backspacing. It will calculate the offset you will need. You will notice that changing the offset by 10mm or so in either direction will only change the backspacing about 0.4" ... so you have some wiggle room in terms of available wheels that will 'work' on the JL.

I have ordered the JL Rubi and looking at putting on 35/12.50 R20 Toyo Open Country AT tires on 20x12 Fuel wheels. Backspacing is 4.75 and offset is -44. Any guesses if they will fit with Stock Rubi Fenders?

Guessing will need additional lift or move to steel fenders. Also curious about tire pressure monitors if buying new wheels will the sensors they sell now for JK work fine with the JL

Does anyone know if the 2017 Sahara 18" rim would work on a JLU Sahara? I'm not wild about the stock options and don't have the $ to buy aftermarket this year. I'd swap these from my current jeep if i could. thoughts?

Yes, they will. The JK and the JL have the same 5x5 (5x127) bolt pattern.

You shouldn't need to buy JK sensors. The JL comes with TPS. I believe most modern aftermarket wheels accept the stock TPS. There might be a nominal fee added to your wheel purchase in order to get your new wheels set up with TPS.
