It depends on where you plan to mount the hub/ control box. Some people like to mount next to the battery which is going to put the rear lights further away. If you are wiring to an Aux switch for instance and mount under the passenger set or console then you can reach the rears without extensions (note that 4 of the 8 pods have longer 10' cables, those are for the rears).
