Hello Jeepers,

Just looking to find out what the 4 "pipes" in the photo are?

I have an Australian JL and intend to put on a Rough Country MLC - 6 controller but my engine bay appears to be different to the USA (probably to do with changing to RHD).

If the controller box rests on these pipes, would there be an issue with either function or electrical current displacement?

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, don’t put anything on those black tubes. Those are for your anti lock brakes.

Hello guys, just asking why not? The module is not heavy and only just touches the lines. I can understand you don;t want to mess with your braking but I didn't think this would.

If you mount it as per this pic on the Rough Country site you won't have room without contact of those lines? Is there more room on the passenger side fender by chance??

Hello Binewt, unfortunately the MLC unit that I was sent for the JL is not the same as the one you pictured. My unit has the longest side with the bolt holes rather than the shorter side. This causes it it hit the ABS lines. I do not think there is anyother room to fit it in the engine bay.

maybe a piece of high density foam between the lines and the bottom of the switch box if indeed it's light weight and there's a bit of room to fit it in. That would be better than possibly having that switch box making contact under heavy off road use or hitting a road hazard. Is it possible to make a plate w/ different mount holes that you could adapt to move that box a bit more out of the way??
Maybe using some spacers to give a bit more room above those lines could be an option perhaps??

Maybe you can post a pic of how that would fit w/ its current mounting points, just to detail exactly what's going on there.

My ideas as well. I will look into either the foam or lifting the bracket off the lines.
Thanks

I have the mlc-6 and mine don't hit the lines, it's close but not touching. No problems for almost 2 years now

Thanks for the pic Brad. Mine is an Australian JL so the ABS lines are at a slight angle and closer to the side as there is a metal piece in the way. Probably due to being a RHD and not a LHD as intented.

I figured that was the issue, however rough country doesn't have the highest quality products either, the mlc-6 was the most frustrating thing I've installed on the jeep.

Would it be possible to mount the mlc 6 on the passenger side above the battery? Mine doesn't fit on the driver side but on the passenger side it fits over the battery. Viable option?
