It looks like a Corvette, but whatever it is, it destroyed a stop sign and the Cop's trusty Mahindra is after him

If you think that looks like a Corvette, you need to get your eyes checked. Looks like some kind of Nissan. Probably not imported to the US in large numbers though.

That was my first car as a kid. I had the hard top / chopped rear window version called the Mustang Grande.
“Grande” it was not though i did some learning about the facts of life in that huge backseat with my girlfriend.

It had (at the time) the longest production fenders. The one pictured is the same car as the Mach 1, just a convertible version, no long rear window.
