i have the tow package. Somewhere on this forum I thought someone said that the tow package is already set up for electric brakes on your trailer. I have the 7 pin hookup I think whoops better double check it. So I should be able to just plug it in and everything will work? Brake lights signals electric brakes etc? Anyone know

Your set up for electric brakes meaning the wiring is there, but you still need a brake controller if your trailer has electric brakes.

It's wired for the brakes; you still need a controller and a wiring harness to connect the controller to the Jeep. Here is a video on that:

eTrailers.com has a good supply of controllers and wiring harnesses for JL/JLU.

Here's an update. I looked up the Tekonsha wiring harness for their Primus IQ controller. The part number is 3073-P. It shows as fitting both the JL series and the Gladiators.

https://www.tekonsha.com/products/brake-controllers/2-plug-adapters/trailer-brake-control-harness/TzaIxkVx1cJJgWsByztj|Tb3|3rzwq3IxduJeWfqhZU=

The Primus IQ comes with a plug in pigtail connection, meaning it plugs into the back of the controller but the other end is simply a loose pigtail with no connector. When installing the controller, set this aside and use the 3073-P, which plugs directly into the controller and then into the Jeep, as shown in the video in my last post.

According to the Tekonsha website, the 3014-P harness shown in the video does not fit the JL series.
