Yes but he needs to be careful to buy only radial, not bias, models, plus I think for the past few years most of the radials have been backordered? Simpler to buy something available at Walmart or such.
As somebody who's owned bias ply interco tires let me tell you they ride really nice and they work in the mud really well. I don't know why everybody's scared of a bias ply tire but I've ran bias plies on the streets on trucks and a car and they were fine and rode nice. People keep acting like it's 1975 still or something I don't know.

I even committed the ultimate sin and put bias plys on the front and radials on the back of the same car. And it was fine. All those scary things that people say will happen just didn't.

I've decided to go one step further and I'm even going to answer OP's question seriously because why not, I'm feeling generous I guess.

Those tires don’t come in 285/70R17. Anyway, you can run bias ply but even Interco’s website has a comparison indicating bias are better on road: https://www.intercotire.com/comparing_bias_ply_radial_tires_trent_mcgee

Yeah it doesn't surprise me, I had a set of 33 in LTBs and to this day those are the smoothest riding tires I've ever had on any vehicle period.

As for the tire recommendation the guy asked for the gnarliest off-road tires out there and those are some of the gnarliest you can get. I mean hell you can get them in a 35 that doesn't require that much lift.

Make sure your tires are all set at 60 psi - you want rough and tough, prove it.

Sorry, I typed the wrong word. Interco said radial was better on road. But if you had large bias tires, particularly at a lower PSI, I can see how those would ride smooth.

All I know is I replaced a set of 35 in pro Comp x terrains and it was night and day different. I don't care what anybody says about Interco tires but if they try to claim that they are rough riding I know first hand they're full of crap. Bias ply tires get a bad rap from people that mostly have never even used them. Like I said I've ran them on cars and trucks and they're fine. To the point where if I told you they were radials and you didn't look at the sidewall you wouldn't know the difference.

Those of us that have run bias ply tires knew what you meant.
