or a drop down tailgate? I wonder if anybody’s ever done this and what they had to do. I also wonder if a gladiator tailgate might be a solution seems to mean it should be a useful mod because you could carry longer things short distances you could sit on it then probably get a lot of other uses
It would be pretty cool gladiator tailgate would get swapped right over
Which leads me to
What if you could order a jeep straight from the factory and a drop-down kettle Gate or swing out tailgate or options? How many would do it?
It would of course take. I have your duty bumper down your rear tire, but Amy makes some a lot of people make them.
Am I crazy or is just just a symptom of just empty every pocket?🤣

Well- you could put the spare back on the side like CJ’s did so a drop down gate would work ? Wait- too wide, it might need an over width permit, at least a red flag or lights. 🙃 except- we all moved the CJ’s spare to the back and had no gate. 😉

I think maybe you need to go back and edit your post. Some of the sentences make no sense.

Anyway. Drop down tailgate would mean a separate spare tire bracket, or no spare. You would not be able to drive with the tailgate down due the the spare tire bracket sticking out.

I get it though, it's useful. I like old CJs with drop down tailgates. Back when the rear floor was thick , and ribbed, like a pickup trucks bed.

Didn’t they do this on the JL “Shortcut” as well? Speaking of that - Whatever became of it?

Collecting dust in a storeroom for approaching 2 years ? If you take a close look it appears it would likely need several “upgrades” to pass “standards”, like crash, rollover, bumpers, lights, a few other possible things I noticed back then. … maybe they’ll drag it out again, 24 might have been the second time, but not sure.

Yep., I have the @gatekeeper offroad one and a buddy of mine now has that Dirt Road Cred 392 with the Moto built.

Its one of my favorite changes.

Being a former metal-smith of sorts and dabbling in custom body work, I find this interesting. And I also wonder if anyone who has done this has also gone the extra mile and shaved the factory body lines to match that gate.
